Abstract

T. SUMMARY I hare attempted to point out the idolatry in ancient Arabs, the reasons of rise and development, and then the place of Arabian Peninsula » and its human characteristics in this study. Especially `by dividing Arabian Peninsula into three parts, every part is 'examined in detail- Besides the famous states which are vanished and their civilisations are mentioned- So Arab community is- defined, Hence, relationships are established between their human characteristics and their passing to idolatry - ön the other hands in the main chapter.of this study I tried.to examine the idolatry form of Arabs from different perspectives- As a result of this examination it is seen that Arab idolatry is not a original religion- Rather it is affec ted from various religions of other nations - But it.. is said that this religion is formed in a way that it has a characte ristic form of Arabs- So snich so that they systematized it in a form that every tribe- even every family has a idol- 'This structure caused the emerging of various institutions related to the idolatry- As a result of this? by emergin of various privilidged classes 7 every class want to direct Arab idolatry by it is own wish. In short, idolatry -has lived long-period until Islam emerges is in Arabian Peninsula-, On the other hand it passed through various stages and then it is surrendered to Islam by the effort of Hz- Muhammed.
