Abstract

_ 121, SUMMARY There are a number of attributes to God such as sit on the Throne (istiva ale'l Arş), face(vech), eye(ayn), form(suret>, alighting (nuzûl), in Qur'an and traditions. These are called as haberi attributes in the field of theology. If the haberî attributes are studied as outwardly, they show an analogy and resemblance to God. As the schools of Mushabbihah and Mucassimah evaluate the mentioned verses of Qur'an and the traditions as phono- mens they set a conclusion that God is as body and is si milar to the creatures. But Ahl al-Sunnah are divided into two parts as Selef and Halef on this subject. Selef thinks that we don't rea lize the aim of these verses and traditions, and the real meaning of these is known by God itself. On the other hand, Halef ` accepts the forced interpre- tion. They explained these verses and traditions by some slight but real analogy through proving that these attri butes can not be used as phenomena.
