Abstract

This study called `Faruk Nafiz; His life and works` aimed at making known Faruk Nafiz in detail who started Country Literature with his such poems as Han Duvarlari, Çoban Çeşmesi, Bizim Memleket. We tried to take into account his poetry, novel, drama and literary writings separately in our study including ten different parts. The poetry of Faruk Nafiz whose aim was to reach poetry by way of love, and language characteristics to the language of people was studied in three different periods reflecting internal and external structure. While studying his poetry, the general literary characteristics of the age and age-personality-work relationship was also taken as a of research. We made known the literary personalities, with their effects on his poetry. We also studied his novel, Yildiz Yağmuru and twelve dramatic works with their setting, plot, time, place, characters and mentioned about their reflections on literature. We focused on his ironical magazines publishing them. Trying to focus on the magazines publishing the poetical and other works of Faruk Nafiz who had an approximately 60 years of literary life, we tried to find his articles, interviews, anecdotes edified in the above mentioned magazines and also tried to gibe detailed information about some of his writings.
