Abstract

KINCAL Atatürk Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Enstitüsü Hazırlık Sınıflarında Uygulanan Dil Öğretim Programının Amacına Ulaşmasını Engelleyen Faktörler adlı çalışmamızda, 1993 yılından beri uygulanan Hazırlık Sınıfları Eğitim ve Öğretiminde karşılaştığımız güçlükleri gidermeyi amaçladık. Bu amaçla anket ve testler uyguladık, Öğretim Üyeleri ile görüşmeler yaptık. Elde ettiğimiz bilgiler doğrultusunda amaca ulaşmayı engelleyen faktörleri tesbit etmeye çalıştık. Çalışmamızın birinci bölümünde, ingilizce Öğretimi ile ilgili genel bilgilere değindik ve İngilizce Öğretimi ile ilgili yaklaşımları inceledik. İkinci bölümde, Sağlık Bilimleri Enstitüsü İngilizce Hazırlık Sınıflarındaki mevcut dersler, sınavlar ve karşılaşılan güçlüklerden bahsettik. Üçüncü bölümde, çalışmamızın dayanağını, amacını ve kapsamını belirttik. Çalışma alanımızı ve araştırmanın sınırlarını belirledik. Ayrıcaanketlerin hazırlanması ve uygulanmasından, Enstitü İngilizce Hazırlık Sınıflarında görev yapan Öğretim Üyeleri ile görüşme ve bilgi toplamadan bahsettik ve bu topladığımız bilgileri değerlendirerek çalışmamızın amacına uygun olup olmadığına baktık. Dördüncü bölümde, İngilizce Eğitim ve Öğretimi etkileyen faktörleri gözönüne alarak Programın kısa bir değerlendirmesini yaptık. Ayrıca, verilen derslere ek olarak Yazma ve Konuşma derslerinin de verilmesinin yararlı olacağını ve Programın eşgüdümlü bir şekilde yürütülmesinin gerekliliğini ileri sürdük.

KINCAL In our study by the name of Factors Making It difficult to Reach the Aim of Language Teaching Program Applied in Preparatory Classes of the Institute of Health Sciences of Atatürk University, we have tried to remendy the difficulties which we observed during the courses given in the Preparatory Classes since 1993. For this reason, we applied tests and questionnaire to the students and interviewed with the lecturers. Considering the data, we have tried to find out the factors making it difficult to reach the aim. In Chapter I, we discussed the general knowledge about teaching of English and analysed the model approaches to syllabus design in teaching of English. In Chapter II, we stated the existing system, exams and constraints in the Preparatory Classes of Institute of Health Sciences. In Chapter III, the general background of the study is given, aims andIV scope of the study are stated, and assumptions are given. We determined the limitations of the study, in addition, we mentioned about the preparation and application of the questionnaire, the interview given to the lecturers and the data obtained from the students. We analysed the data and discussed the results whether they are suitable for the program that we want to design. In Chapter IV, considering the factors, which influence the teaching of English, we gave a brief evaluation of the course. Finally, we suggested that we should add Writing and Conversation courses to the syllabus, and the courses must be given in coordination.
