Drl Osman DEMİRDÖĞEN Bu çalışmanın kapasite planlama bölümünde ; kapasite planlamanın ne olduğu ve stratejik planlama kararlarının nasıl etkilediği araştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın uygulama bölümünde deneme-yanılma metodu bir plastik imalat işletmesinde uygulanmıştır. Çünkü deneme yanılma metodu, (özellikle mevsimlik talebin olduğu şartlarda) belki de en yaygın olarak kullanılan bir kapasite planlama metodudur. Bu metot gerekli üretim kapasitesini sağlamak için kaynakların alternatif kullanım maliyetlerini basit olarak değerler. Yöneticiler en uygun görülen bir sonuca varıncaya kadar seçenekleri değerlendirmeye tabi tutar. Bu yöntem, en iyi planı geliştirmek için ayrıntılı matematiksel ifadeler içermez. Bu yüzden yöntemi anlamak ve kullanmak kolaydır. İş hayatında faaliyet gösteren işletmeler, uzun dönem için insana, teknolojiye, AR&GE ye ve sabit varlıklara yatırımı devam ettirmelidirler. Bu nedenle stratejik planlamanın bir bölümü gelecekte var olacak beklenen talebin karşılandığı kapasite ile ilgili bazı beklentilerin oluşturduğu uzun dönemli kapasite planlarını içerir. Kapasite şirketlerin pazar talebini karşılama yeteneğim, girilebilir pazarların tipini ve bu pazarlarda rekabet edebilme yeteneğini etkiler. Doç. Dr. Osman DEMİRDÖ?EN In the firs part of this study investigates what capacity planning and how effect on strategic planning decisions. In the part of aplications of this study Trial and Error methods have been applied in a plastic manufacturing company. Because Trial and Error methods (espacially conditions that have seasonal demand) is probably most common used method of capacity planning. This metod simply evaluates the cost of alternative ways of using resources to provide the necessary production capacity. Managers evaluate options until they arrive at the one that seems most desirable. This method does not involve complex mathematics to develop to best plan, so it is relatively easy to understand and use. Companies that are in business for the long run must make continiued investments in the people, technology, R&D, and capital asset. Part of strategic planning, therefore, involves a long term capacity plan that establishes some expectations about the capacity that will be available to meet future demand. The amount and type of capacity a company acqires and develops over time is vitally important to the company's strategic success. Capacity affects the company's ability to meet market demand, the type of markets it can enter, and its ability to compete in those markets. It is obvious that capacity decisions have long term effect on many parts of the business. Finance is effected from capacity decisions because it is influenced the level of investment and return on that investment. Marketing is effected because capacity represents the ability to meet costemer's demands. in
