Abstract

Dr. Turgut KARABEY `Cahilliye ve Abbasiler Dönemi Arap Şiirinde Gökyüzü Tasviri` adlı bu çalışmamızda önce bu dönemlerin siyasi ve kültürel yapılan hakkında bilgi verdik. Şiirin tarihi gelişimi, tasvir türleri ve tasvir konularına kısaca değindikten sonra gökyüzü ile ilgili tasvirlerin olduğu şiirleri ele aldık. Divanları, şiir mecmualarını inceleyerek şairlerin, Güneş'in doğuşu anındaki güzelliğini, karanlık gecenin durgunluğunu, parlayan yıldızların ve hilalin inceliğini, yağmurlu bir günde şimşeğin parlamasını ve gök gürlemesini tasvir ettikleri şiirlerini derleyip tercüme ettik. `Övgü ve ağıt şiirinde gökyüzü tasviri` başlıklı bölümde övülen kişinin Güneş'e Ay'a ve yıldızlara benzetildiği şiirleri ele aldık., Sonuç bölümünde tasvirdeki benzetmelerin zamana, çevreye, kültürel ve siyasi yapıya göre değiştiğini belirttik.

Prof. Dr. Turgut KARABEY This study titled `The Celestial Descriptions in the Arabic Poetry in the Jahiliyyah and Abbasid Periods` attempts to give a general information about the political and cultural structure of these historical periods. The chapter following the introduction is concerned with a general background of Arabic poetry, types and topics of description. It also includes a study on the pieces of poetry containing descriptions of heavens. Having studied several Divans and Collections of Poetry, we collected and translated those describing the beauty of sunrise, the serenity of dark nights, the elegance of shining stars and of the crescent, the thunder and lightnings flashing on a rainy day. The following chapter titled `Descriptions of Heavens in Eulogistic and Lamentation Poetry` deals with the pieces of poetry with similes in which the praiseworthy people are compared to the sun, the moon and the stars. The last chapter focuses on the changes is the types of the descriptions depending of time, setting and the cultural and political situations.
