İlköğretim düzeyinde ders dışı etkinliklerin akademik başarıya ve okul kültürünü algılamaya etkisi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, ilköğretim düzeyinde yapılan ders dışı etkinliklerin ` akademik başarıya ve okul kültürünü algılamaya ilişkin etkisini kuramsal ve deneysel bir düzeyde ele alıp incelemektir. Bu araştırma, tarama modeliyle yapılmıştır. Öncelikle konuyla ilgili literatür incelenmiş ve kuramsal temel oluşturulmuştur. Bu doğrultuda, ilköğretim öğrencilerine uygulanmak üzere anket formu geliştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini Erzurum il merkezindeki ilköğretim okulu öğrencileri, örneklemini ise üç farklı sosyo-ekonomik düzeye sahip 14 ilköğretim okulunda öğrenim gören 2823 ilköğretim öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma altı ana bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde, giriş ve araştırmanın problemi; ikinci bölümde, araştırmanın kuramsal çerçevesi; üçüncü bölümde de konuyla ilgili araştırmaların özetleri yer almaktadır. Dördüncü bölümde, araştırmanın yöntemi, evren ve örneklem, veri toplama teknikleri ve verilerin analizi bulunmaktadır. Beşinci bölümde, araştırma sonunda ulaşılan bulgular, SPSS (Sosyal Bilimler İçin İstatistik Programı) ile analiz edilerek tablolar halinde yorumlanmıştır. Bu bölümde, ilköğretim düzeyinde ders dışı etkinlikler; cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi (4., 6. ve 8. sınıf), ailenin sosyo-ekonomik durumu ve ders dışı etkinliklerle ilgili okulun sunduğu olanaklar gibi bağımsız değişkenlerle karşı laştırılmıştır. Son bölümde ise, bulgular ve yorumlar doğrultusunda elde edilen sonuçlar ortaya konulmuş ve ders dışı etkinliklerin, hem öğrencilerin akademik başarılarının artmasına, hem de okul kültürünün algılanmasına, önemli ölçüde etkide bulunduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Ayrıca, bu bölümde, sonuçlara yönelik değerlendirmeye ve araştırmacılara yönelik önerilere yer verilmiştir.

The aim of this study is to assess the out of class activities and to determine the effects of the out of class activities on the academic achievement and the perception of school culture at the level of primary school. The research was based on descriptive model. Firstly, the literature has been reviewed and established the theoretical frame-work which is based on the study. In this way, the questionnaire was designed and developed for the application of the fied-work. The population of this study is the primary school children in the center of Erzurum and the sample was drew up 2823 students from 14 primary schools to divide into three different socio-economic levels. The study consists of six main sections. The first section is contained the introduction and the research problem; the second section is the theoretical frame-work including the research; the third section is the summaries of researches relating to the study which have been done before. The section fourth indroduces the research method, the population and the sample of the study, techniques for collecting data and analysing data. In the section, the results are analysed with SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) and shown them on tables. In the fifth section, the results and tables are interpretated, comparing the out of class activities with variables such as sex, the class levels (4., 6., 8. class), the socio-economic positions of families, and the facilities which have been provided by the school. In the last section, the results are produced from the aspects of findings and interpretations. It was found that the out of class activities causes to increase considerably the both accademic achievements of students and perceptions of the school culture. In addition to this, it is being made the evaluation on the results and some reccommendation for the future researchers in the study field.
