Prof. Dr. Avni GÖZÜTOK 2003 - PAGE: V+347 Jury: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Avni GÖZÜTOK Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kâzım KÖKTEKİN Assist. Prof. Dr. Sedat ADIGÜZEL This study includes a comparison which is related to some organ names and their field of use in Turkish and Azerbaijan language. In this comparison mostly used human organs-mouth, foot, head, tongue, hand, eye, ear-have been examined. By this study the purpose is to put forward similar and different sides of Azerbaijan and Turkish language which slightly includes differences, especially in idioms. In this comparison we restricted our study by overly used organ names, with their usage forms in idioms by majority. But sometimes in comparison of these organ names, `local speeches and curses,...` too have been given place. In this comparison, form of an idiom in Azerbaijan language was firstly given and then it's equivalence in Turkish language was given. The idiom's equivalence in Turkish language was, in full, trying to given with regard to morphology and semantics. Though on idiom in Azerbaijan language, the equivalence of that in Turkish language isn't available morphologically, it is -if there is-available semantically. Where in need, in the part of Turkish language, explonations was given with regard to idiom's equivalence in particular, too. In this study, succeeded result that is favourable to our aim is this, compared idioms are sometimes a like in terms of morphology and semantics, but sometimes they are same as a morphology and differ semantically from each other. Many idiom's equivalence, with regard to morphology and semantics, which is used fairly in our language are also used exactly the some way'in Azerbaijan language. In both language, there are some idioms which are used differently in terms of morphology and semantics at times, and also there are some which has no equivalence.en_US
