Dramatizasyon yönteminin yabancı dil öğretimi üzerindeki etkisi ve dramatizasyon yöntemi ile sıfatların öğretimi

Abstract

Dr. Muzaffer BARIN Bu araştırmada ilköğretim 4. sınıf İngilizce dersi sıfatlar konusunun öğretilmesinde, geleneksel anlatım yöntemi ile dramatizasyon yönteminin karşılaştırılması yapılarak öğrenciler üzerindeki etkileri incelenmiştir. Yapılan uygulamalarda her türlü örneklemdeğer eş tutulmuş, tek değişken olarak yöntem alınmıştır. Yöntemler birbirleriyle karşılaştırılırken ve öğrenciler üzerindeki etkileri gözlemlenirken öğrencilerin test sonuçlarından yararlanılmıştır. Test sonuçlarından elde edilen bulgular şunlardır: 1. Dramatizasyon ağırlıklı derslere katılan öğrencilerin test sonuçlan geleneksel anlatım yoluyla derse katılan öğrencilerin test sonuçlarından daha yüksektir. 2. Yapılan test sonuç ortalamalarına göre her iki kümede de kız öğrenciler erkek öğrencilere göre daha başarılıdırlar. 3. Yapılan 2. son test sonuçlarına göre öğretilen sıfat konusu, dramatizasyon ağırlıklı yöntemle ders işleyen deney kümesinde geleneksel anlatım yöntemiyle ders işleyen kontrol kümesine göre daha kalıcı olmuştur. Bu da demek oluyor ki günümüz eğitim dünyasında gelenekselleşmiş ve artık hiçbir işlevliliği kalmamış anlatım yöntemi yerine öteki dil öğrenme ve öğretme tekniklerine yönelmenin zamanı gelmiştir. Bu nedenle de tüm yabancı dil öğretaenlerinin hem kendi bilgilerini güncelleştirmek hem de öğrencilerine yabancı dili sevdirmek adına en kısa zamanda daha işitsel ve görsel teknikleri derslerinde uygulamaları gerekmektedir.

Prof. Muzaffer BARIN In this study, the effect of the dramatization on the students is tested by comparing the traditional exposition method by the dramatization method in the teaching of the adjectives in English to the students in the 4th class of the primary school. In this study, each parameter is brought into balance and the only variable is the method. While the methods are compared with each other and the effects on the students are observed, the students' results are made use of. The findings are: 1. The students' results joining in the class by the dramatization method are higher than the students' results joining in the class by the traditional exposition method. 2. According to the average of the test results, the female students are more succesful than the male students in both groups. 3. According to the results of the second test, the adjective subject is more permanent in the group which learns the lesson by the dramatization than the other group. These findings confirm that the audio-lingual and visual methods should be replaced with the traditional teaching methods which have been out of agenda. So, all English teachers need to apply more visual and audio-lingual methods both to update their own knowledge and to have their students like English as soon as possible.
