J.Locke ve G.Berkeley`de dil, düşünce ve varlık ilişkisi

Abstract

Berkeley'de dil, düşünce ve varlık kavramlarını ele alıp, adı geçen filozofların bu kavramlara bakış açılarını, her iki filozofun bu kavramlar konusundaki yaklaşımlarını karşılaştırmalı olarak incelemektir. Çalışma, giriş, iki ana bölüm ve sonuç 'tan oluşmaktadır. Girişte, adı geçen kavramlar (dil, düşünce ve varlık) birbirleriyle ilintili olarak ele alınıp, bu kavramlara ilişkin felsefe tarihi içinde var olan bir takım yaklaşımlara değinilmiştir. Birinci bölümde J. Locke'un dil, düşünce ve varlık kavramlarına ilişkin yaklaşımını ele aldık. Bu anlamda Locke'un dil-düşünce ilişkisi bağlamında nominalist, varlık nazariyesi bağlamında realist bir yaklaşım sergilediğini vurguladık. İkinci bölümde ise G. Berkeley' in dil, düşünce ve varlık kavramlarına ilişkin yaklaşımlarına değinip, Berkeley' in kavram realizmine ve maddeyi inkar eden sübjektif idealizme varan yaklaşımlarına değindik. Tezimizin ilk iki bölümünü adı geçen filozofların konuyla ilgili yaklaşımlarına ayırıp, bu anlamdaki kuramlarım sistematik bir bağlamda vurgulamaya çalıştık. Sonuç bölümünde ise her iki filozofun dil, düşünce ve varlık kavramlarına ilişkin yaklaşımlarını kritize ederek genel bir çözümleme yoluna gittik.

Locke and G. Berkeley; besides researching these two philosophers' points of view to the concepts previously mentioned. The study consists of introduction, two main parts and a conclusion. In the introduction, the concepts previously mentioned (language, thought, existence) have examined in detail, and discussed about some thoughts in the philosophical history. In the first part, we considered the opinion of J. Locke about the language, thought, and existence. In this way we emphasized that Locke was nominalist according to the relationship between language and thought; and according to the view of existence he showed a realist behavior. In the second chapter, we mentioned about G. Berkeley's approaches about language, thought and existance concepts. In addition, we mentioned about Berkeley's concept of realism and his denial of material, moreover we see his oproaches of idealism. We study on the approaches of the philasophers related with this subject in the first two parts of our thesis and we tried to organize their theories in a systematic way. In the conclusion, we made a general analysis about the concepts of the language, thought, and existence of the philosophers mentioned.
