Samuel Beckett`in Godot`yu Beklerken, Oyun Sonu, Mutlu Günler ve Krapp`ın Son Bandı adlı oyunlarında zaman kavramının işlenişi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Uyumsuz Tiyatro'nun önde gelen temsilcilerinden Samuel Beckett'in oyunlarındaki zaman kavramı ele alınmaya çalışılacaktır.Öncelikle Uyumsuz Tiyatro, ortaya çıktığı toplumsal ve psikolojik koşullar çerçevesinde ele alınacak ve `uyumsuz' sözcüğünün anlamı üzerinde durularak bu tiyatro kuramına uyarlanış biçimi ele alınacaktır.Daha sonra Uyumsuz Tiyatro'nun öncülerinden biri sayılan Beckett'in yazınsal serüveni gözden geçirilmek suretiyle oyunlarında kullandığı biçimsel ve içeriksel özellikler irdelenecektir. Sözü edilen özellikler kapsamında, Beckett'in oyunlarında kullandığı karakterlerin temel nitelikleri ve dilin kullanılış biçimi gibi konular da üzerinde durulmaya gerek görülmüş ayrıntılardan bazılarıdır.Üzerinde durulacak diğer bir nokta da Uyumsuz Tiyatro'nun ortaya çıktığı döneme egemen olan Varoluşçuluk düşünce akımının Uyumsuz Tiyatro ve Beckett tiyatrosu ile karşılaştırılmasıdır; çünkü sanat biçimlerini, ortaya çıktığı sürecin toplumsal, siyasal ve düşünsel yaşamından bağımsız olarak ele almak olası değildirAyrıca bu çalışmanın ana konusu olan zaman kavramına geçmeden önce Beckett'in kısa bir özgeçmişine de yer verilecektir. Daha sonra Godot'yu Beklerken, Oyun Sonu, Mutlu Günler ve Krapp'ın Son Bandı adlı oyunlarında zaman kavramının işleniş biçimi incelenmiştir. Sonuç bölümünde ise çalışmanın ana hatları ve önemli noktalarını kapsayan genel bir değerlendirme sunulacaktır

This study takes into consideration the contept of time in four plays of Samuel Beckett (1906-1989) who is one of the pioneers of Absurd Theatre.Firstly, Absurd Theatre will be handled under social, political and psychological cicumstances in which it appeared and also `the concept of absurd? and the form of adaptation to this kind of theatre will be discussed. After that we will study about not only Beckett?s literary life but also the content and visual features that were used in his plays.In addition to these features which are mentioned above we will study about the usage of language and the basic features of his characters in his plays. We should pointed at these elements of his plays.This work comprises another remarkable point. That is the relationship between Absurd Theatre and Existentialism which are effective on the second half of twentieth century. However it isn?t possible to ignore the relationship between the period in which intellectual life and the forms of arts occured.And also this study will include a short biography of Samuel Beckett before studying the concept of time which is the main subject of this work. Then we will begin to examine the concept of time in his four plays, Waiting for Godot, Endgame, Happy Days and Krapp?s Last Tape. In conclusion, the main points of this study will be presented shortly.
