Hattat Mehmed Şevki efendi ve sülüs-nesih hat ekolü

Abstract

Tezimizde, 1244/1829 yılında Kastamonu'nun Seyyidiler köyünde doğan ve İstanbul'da yetişerek XIX. yüzyılın mektep sahibi hattatlarından birisi olan Mehmed Şevki Efendi'nin hayatı, talebeleri ve eserleri müze, kütüphane, arşiv ve özel koleksiyonlardan vb. istifade edilerek tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Mehmed Şevki Efendi'nin eserleri, yazı çeşitlerine, kullanıldıkları yerlere ve tarihî seyrine göre sıralanmış, sülüs ve nesih yazılarının özellikleri, harf bünyelerinin yapıları, hareke, tezyinî işaretler; mıstar, tenasüp, vuzuh vb. kriterlere göre değerlendirilmiştir. Hem şahsiyeti hem de sanatı açısından incelenmeye değer bir sanatkâr olan Hattat Mehmed Şevki Efendi tamamı tespit edilememekle beraber onlarca talebe yetiştirmiş, hem eserleri hem de talebeleri yoluyla sülüs, nesih ve rika` (icâze) yazılarda ortak bir zevkin tesisinde büyük bir pay sahibidir.

In our thesis, born in Seyyidiler village of Kastamonu in 1244 / 1829 and grown up in İstanbul and one of the pupil of XIX. century calligraphers, Mehmed Shawqi Efendi, the life, his students and works are determined to be benefited from the museums, libraries, record offices and special collections. The works of Mehmed Shawqi Efendi are listed in view of types of writing, places being used and historical course; the properties of thuluth and naskh writings, the structure of letters, haraka, decorative signs are evaluated in accordance with the criteria such as mıstar (ruler), harmony, clarity etc. Mehmed Shawqi Efendi who is worth analysing for both his personality and his artistic side taught many students with not all of the number, and in the writings of naskh and rika` (icâze) by means of both his works and students has an important place in the foundation of common pleasure.
