Toplam kalite yönetimi yaklaşımının işletme maliyetleri üzerine etkisi ve bir üretim işletmesinde uygulama

Abstract

Küreselleşme ve beraberinde getirdiği yoğun rekabet ortamı karşısında işletmeler varlıklarını sürdürebilmek ve varoluş amaçlarını gerçekleştirebilmek için modern üretim ve yönetim metotlarını uygulamak adına adeta birbirleriyle yarışmaktadır. Bu metotlar içerisinde özellikle son çeyrek asırda Toplam Kalite Yönetiminin popülaritesi her sektörü etkisi altına almıştır. Yapılan bilimsel çalışmaların çoğu TKY'nin olumlu yönlerinden bahsederken, bazıları ise olumsuz yönlerini vurgulanıştır.Bu çalışmada, işletme maliyetlerinin, modern üretim ve yönetim metotlarına olan aşırı duyarlılığının TKY karşısında nasıl bir seyir izlediği problemi temel alınarak, TKY'yi benimsemiş ve kalite yönetim sistemi belgesine sahip bir üretim işletmesinin, kalite belgesi öncesi ve belgelendirme sonrası dönemde işletme maliyetlerinin ne yönde ve ne büyüklükte değişiklik gösterdiğinin ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır.Elde edilen bulgular, TKY'nin uygulama konusu işletmenin üretim maliyetleri ve faaliyet giderleri üzerinde farklı etkileri olduğunu göstermektedir. Dolayısıyla, çoğu işletme tarafından popüler bir kavram olduğu için ilgi duyulan TKY'nin, konuyla ilgilenen işletmelerin türleri hatta faaliyet alanlarındaki uygulama sonuçlarını dikkate almaları ve TKY'yi sadece bir moda ya da bir formalite olarak değerlendirmemeleri tavsiye edilmiştir.

The firms almost compete with each other for the sake of applying modern production and management methods in order to continue their existences and accomplish their purposes of existence against globalization and accompanying intense competition environment. Among these methods, the popularity of Total Quality Management has penetrated all sectors especially in the last quarter-century. Most of the scientific studies that have been carried out up to date have specialized in the benefits of TQM, but on the other hand, some of them, at the least; have emphasized negative aspects of it.In this study, the problem of how the over sensitivity of operating costs on the modern production and management methods follows a course against TQM has been based on and it has been intended to display in which direction and in what size the operating costs of an firm adopting TQM and having a certificate of quality management system have varied prior to the quality certificate and following the certification period.The findings have showed that TQM has different effects on the production costs and operating expenses of the firm in question. Accordingly, it has been suggested that the firm should take into consideration the application results of TQM on the types and even the activity areas of the firms dealing with the subject and should not evaluate TQM only as a fashion or a formality.
