Meta-etik ve William David Ross`un deontolojik sezgici ahlak kuramı

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, temel ahlak teorilerini eleştiren ve farklı bir bakış açısıyla çoğulcu bir ahlak anlayışı geliştiren William David Rossun deontolojik sezgici ahlak kuramı ele alınmıştır. Rossun ahlak kuramı ünlü ahlakçılardan biri olan Immanuel Kantın geleneksel deontolojisinden farklı olan bir deontoloji olarak sınıflandırılmıştır. Geleneksel deontoloji, ahlaki bir eylemin doğru ya da yanlış olup olmadığını belirleyen temel kriteri yani kriterin tekliğini vurgular. Lakin Ross, çoğulcu bir yaklaşımla erdem, haz, paylaşım gibi temel değerlerden söz etmiştir. David Ross, bir eylemi doğru yapma eğiliminde olan birkaç farklı özellik olduğunu ve bunların tek bir özelliğe indirgenemeyeceği iddiasıyla tanınır. Ahlak filozofunun en önemli görevinin ahlaka içerik kazandırmak olduğunu düşünen Ross, doğru eylemlerde ifadesini bulan ahlaki yükümlülüklerin analizini yapmaya çalışmıştır. Sezgi yoluyla bilinen vazgeçilmez yükümlülükler olarak ortaya koyduğu bu yükümlülükleri ilk elden/ilk bakışta ödevler olarak kategorize etmiştir.

This study discusses deontological intuitionist moral philosophy of William David Ross who has developed pluralistic moral sentiment from a different perspective and criticizes the basic theories of morality. His theory of morality is classified as deontology different from the traditional deontology of Immanuel Kant, one of the eminent moralists. Traditional deontology puts emphasis on the basic criteria which determines whether a moral act is right or wrong, that is, the oneness of the criteria. However, Ross mentions about virtue, pleasure and sharing in a pluralistic approach. David Ross is noted for his claim that there are several properties which tend to carry out an activity accurately and that they cannot be reduced to one single property. Ross who believes that the most important task of the moralist is to bring content into morals has tried to do an analysis on the moral obligations finding expression in the right acts. He categorizes these obligations as prima facie duties, which he has introduced indispensable obligations which are intuitively recognized.
