XI. ve XV. yüzyıllar arasında Kars

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, XI. ve XV. yüzyıllar arasında Kars coğrafyasında yaşanan askeri, siyasi ve sosyal gelişmeler, bahsi geçen dönem veya döneme yakın bir zamanda yazılmış olan birinci el kaynaklar, araştırma eserler ve bölgede var olan tarihi mekânlara yapılan araştırma gezilerinde yapılan gözlemlerden yararlanılarak incelenmiştir.Çalışma, giriş ve dört bölümden meydana gelmektedir. Birinci bölümde Kars'ın coğrafyası, adının anlamı ve XI. yüzyıla kadar olan tarihi incelenmiştir. İkinci bölümde, Selçuklu fethi öncesinde Kars ve yakın çevresinde bulunan devletler ve konumlarına değinilerek, devletler tanıtılmış ve birbirleri ile olan münasebetlerine değinilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde, XI. ve XV. Yüzyıllar arasında bölge üzerinde yapılan hâkimiyet mücadelesi açıklanmıştır. Dördüncü bölümde, Kars coğrafyasında yaşayan milletlerin sosyal hayatı, ekonomik faaliyetleri ve meydana getirdikleri mimari eserler incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın konusu olan dönemde, Kars coğrafyasının hassas konumu nedeniyle sık sık saldırı ve istilalara maruz kalmasının bölgenin siyasal, sosyal ve ekonomik yapısında meydana getirdiği değişimler incelenmiştir. In this study, military, political and social activities in Kars were studied by using the primary sources written during or around the above mentioned period, research studies and observations made with the study journeys to the historical places in the region. This study consists of introduction and four chapters. In the first chapter geography and the meaning of its name and its history until eleventh century were studied. In the second chapter, Kars before the conquest of Seljuk and the countries around it and their status were dealt with and some information about these countries and their relations were given. In the third chapter domination strugle in the region between eleventh and fifteenth centuries were explained. In the fourth chapter the social life, economic activities and the architectural monuments of the peoples living in Kars were studied. During the period which is the subject of the study, Kars was attacked and invaded many times and these attacks and invasions brought some changes in the political, social and economic structure of the region because of the critical position of Kars.
