Câhız ve Mutezile mezhebindeki yeri

Abstract

İslam'ın ilk iki asrı, siyasi, sosyal, ekonomik ve kültürel bir çok gelişmenin aynı anda yaşandığı bir zaman dilimi olmuştur. Mutezile mezhebi, fikri olarak oldukça verimli, üzerinde farklı unsurların ve kültürlerin kesiştiği kozmopolit bir yerde, Basra'da ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu çalışmada yaşanan sorunları akılcı yaklaşımıyla çözmeye çalışan Mutezile mezhebinin en hızlı ve kapsamlı değişimleri geçirdiği bir zaman diliminde yaşamış bir Mutezili olan Câhız'ın ekol içindeki yeri, görüşlerindeki değişimler ve bunların sosyo politik nedenleri incelenmiştir.Câhız özelinde yapılmış bu çalışmada, kişiler üzerinde derinleşme prensibi çerçevesinde öncelikli olarak Câhız'ın içine doğduğu ve fikirlerinin oluşumuna ve gelişimine etki eden çevre, siyasi, ekonomik ve kültürel açıdan ele alınmıştır. Câhız'ın günümüze ulaşan eserlerinin muhtevası verildikten sonra, Mutezile mezhebinin gelişimi ve ekol içerisinde yaşananan imamet merkezli bölünme ele alınmıştır. Bu kapsamda Câhız'ın kelami görüşleri ve bunların ekol içindeki izdüşümleri ortaya konulmuştur. Son olarak Müslüman toplumun en büyük kırılmayı yaşadığı imamet sorununa Câhız'ın yazarlık hayatı rehberliğinde getirdiği çözümler ve bunların siyasi karşılıkları bulunmaya çalışılmıştır.Bu çalışma neticesinde Câhız'ın özellikle Basra Mutezilesi içinde değişen ve gelişen yeni toplumun siyasi ve kültürel hayatına paralel olarak çoğu zaman yönetenlerin himayesinde mezhebin görüşlerini ayakta tutmaya çalıştığı, siyasi ve edebî içerikteki eserleriyle kendisini ifade etmeye çalıştığı görülmüştür. Bu çerçevede, bir asra yaklaşan ömründe yazdıkları, siyasilerin topluma yön verme çalışmaları ile toplumsal kesimlerin siyasette kesiştiği noktada Sünnileşen bir alimin ayakta kalma mücadelesinin canlı bir tasviridir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Câhız, Basra, Mutezile, toplum, din, siyaset, değiĢim.

First two centuries of Islam have been the time period when a lot of political, social, economic, and cultural developments happened at the same time. The Muʿtazilah school emerged in Baṣra, an intellectually very efficient and cosmopolite place where different elements and cultures intersect. In this study, the place of Jāḥiz, one of the Muʿtazilites who lived during the time period when the Muʿtazilah school, which was trying to solve the problems experienced with the rational approach, was experiencing the fastest and comprehensive changes, within the school, changes in his opinions, and socio-political reasons of these have been analyzed.In this specific study on Jāḥiz, primarily the environment, in which Jāḥiz was born and which affected the formation and development of his ideas, has been addressed in political, economic, and cultural aspects within the framework of the principle of deepening on individuals. The development of the Muʿtazilah school and imamate based division within the school have been addressed after delivering the content of Jāḥiz's extant works. In this context, Jāḥiz's theological views and their projections in the school have been revealed. Finally, Jāḥiz's solutions to the imamate problem, the biggest conflict experienced by the Muslim society, with the guidance of his life as a writer and political counterparts of these have been attempted to be found out.As a result of this study, it was seen that, in accordance with especially the changing and developing political and cultural life of the new society within Baṣrah Muʿtazilites, Jāḥiz was usually trying to keep the views of the school alive under the auspices of rulers and to express himself through his political and literary works. In this context, his writings during his lifetime, which was almost a century, are the vivid portrayals of the struggle for survival of the scholar turning into Sunnī at the intersection point of social segments in politics with the attempts of the politicians to shape the society.Keywords: Jāḥiz, Baṣrah, Muʿtazilah, society, religion, politics, change.
