Şizofreni hastasına bakım verenlerde içselleştirilmiş damgalanma ve öğrenilmiş güçlülük ilişkisi

Abstract

Şizofreni Hastasına Bakım Verenlerde İçselleştirilmiş Damgalanma ve Öğrenilmiş Güçlülük İlişkisiAmaç: Araştırma, şizofreni hastasına bakım verenlerde içselleştirilmiş damgalanma ve öğrenilmiş güçlülük arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.Materyal ve Metot: Araştırmanın evrenini, 1 Haziran 2020 – 1 Eylül 2020 tarihleri arasında Rize Toplum Ruh Sağlığı Merkezi'ne kayıtlı tüm şizofreni hasta bakım verenleri oluşturmuştur. Örneklem belirlemede `evreni belirli olan gruplardan örneklem hesaplama formülü` kullanılmış ve 155 primer bakım verici ile araştırma tamamlanmıştır. Araştırmada Sosyodemografik Veri Formu, Ebevenylerin Ruhsal Hastalıklarda İçselleştirilmiş Damgalanma Ölçeği, Rosenbaum Öğrenilmiş Güçlülük Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Veriler bakım verenlerle yüz yüze görüşülerek ve onam alınarak toplanmıştır. Veriler SPSS 22 paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde sayılar, yüzdelikler, min ve max değerler, ortalama, standart sapma, Pearson korelasyon analiz, Cronbach α, Kurtosis ve Skewness kat sayıları testi ile kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan bakım verenlerin Ebeveynlerin Ruhsal Hastalıklarda İçselleştirilmiş Damgalanma Ölçeği (ERHİDÖ) puan ortalaması 52.22±12.77; Rosenbaum Öğrenilmiş Güçlülük Ölçeği (RÖGÖ) puan ortalaması ise 124.90±19.86 bulunmuştur. ERHİDÖ toplam puanı ile RÖGÖ puanı arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı, negatif yönlü ve orta düzeyli ilişki saptanmıştır(p<0.05). ERHİDÖ puanı arttıkça RÖGÖ puanı düşmektedir. Yine aynı şekilde ERHİDÖ'nün altboyutlarından olan Yabancılaşma, Kalıp Yargıların Onaylanması, Algılanan Ayrımcılık, Sosyal Geri Çekilme ve Damgalanmaya Karşı Direnç puan ortalamaları ile RÖGÖ toplam puanı arasında da istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ve negatif yönlü ilişki saptanmıştır (p<0.05). Sonuç: Araştırmada şizofreni hastasına bakım veren bireylerin içselleştirilmiş damgalanma düzeylerinin ölçekten alınabilecek maksimum puanlar göz önünde bulundurulduğunda orta seviyede olduğu, öğrenilmiş güçlülük düzeylerinin de ölçek maksimum puanı baz alındığında yüksek seviyeye yakın bir değerde olduğu söylenebilir. Bakım vericilerin yabancılaşma, kalıp yargıların onaylanması, algılanan ayrımcılık, sosyal geri çekilme ve damgalanmaya karşı dirençleri azaldıkça öğrenilmiş güçlülükleri artmaktadır. The Relationship Internalized Stigma and Learned Resourcefulness in Caregivers of Schizophrenia PatientsAim: The study was conducted to examine the relationship between internalized stigma and learned resourcefulness in caregivers of schizophrenia patients.Materials and Methods:The universe of the study was composed of all schizophrenia patient caregivers registered in Rize Community Mental Health Center between 1 June 2020 - 1 September 2020. In determining the sample, the formula for calculating samples from groups with a definite population was used and the study was completed with 155 primary caregivers. In the studywere used thatSociodemographic Data Form, Internalized Stigma of Parents in Mental Illnesses, Rosenbaum Learned Resilience Scale. The data were collected by interviewing the caregivers face to face and obtaining their consent.The data were analyzed with the SPSS 22 package program. Numbers, percentages, min and max values, mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation analysis, Cronbach α, Kurtosis and Skewness coefficient test were used to evaluate the data.Results: The average score of the Parents' Internalized Stigma of Mental Illness Scale (ERHİDÖ) of the caregivers participating in the study was 52.22 ± 12.77; The Rosenbaum Learned Resourcefulness Scale (RÖGÖ) mean score was found to be 124.90 ± 19.86. A statistically significant, negative and moderate correlation was found between the total ERHİDÖ score and the RÖGÖ score (p <0.05). The higher the ERHIDÖ score, the lower the RÖGÖ score. Likewise, a statistically significant and negative correlation was found between the mean scores of Alienation, Confirmation of Stereotypes, Perceived Discrimination, Social Withdrawal and Resistance to Stigmatization and the total score of the RÖVÖ (p <0.05).Conclusion: In the study, it can be said that the internalized stigmatization levels of individuals caring for schizophrenia patients are at a moderate level, considering the maximum scores that can be obtained from the scale, and their learned resourcefulness level is above the medium level based on the maximum score of the scale. As the resistance of caregivers to alienation, approval of stereotypes, perceived discrimination, social withdrawal and stigma decreases, their learned strength increases.Keywords: Caregiving, nursing, internalized stigma, learned resourcefulness, schizophrenia
