dc.description.abstractIn this work, dissolution kinetios of colemanite, a borate mineral, inJi:JJTA solutions were studied. The concentration of EllTA solution, particlesize, reaction temperature, pH, stirring speed and solid-liquid ratiowere chosen as parameters.It was found that the colemanite mineral cm1 be completely dissolvedin Titriplex III solution, and also the dissolutio~ rate increased withincrease in solution concentration and temperature, while increasingparticle size and pH decreased the rate. Reaction rate increased, asstirring speed increased up to 750 min-I, after this value it was notaffected by this parameter. Dissolution rate decreased slightly withincreasing solid-liquid ratio.It was concluded that the dissolution is controlled by the chemicalreaction at the surface of solid and the order of the reaction withrespect to the fluid is 1/2. The activation energy was calculated as 10,344 cal mol-1 .en_US
