dc.description.abstractSUMMARY This study has b,een. carried out to identify futuristic reactions of children and search out, within ^e curricu lum framevork. At the begining, a content analysis v«as made in elementary, junior and secondary high curriculum and future-oriented ele ments mthin unites were pin-pointed. The second step has been to get the paintings of 3rd grade elementary children as to ` What sort of a world they would like to live in the future ». The last graders ` senior pupil® ` of the elementary and se condary schools were asked to write composition on the same topic. Data collected through paintings and compositions was tabulated and interpreted. İt was found out that the school curriculum, aside from a. few units o.f elementary program, in general, do not include future oriented motives. The futuristic reactions of children are af fected by the mass-media rather than curriculum activities at school. syoaMukMten_US
