Tahrir defterlerine göre Boğazönü adaları (XV. ve XVII. yüzyıllar)

Abstract

SUMMARY The islands of BogazönU were in a region that can control Dardanelles Straits which has strategical importance. The islands of BogazönU which were under the Byzantine rule before the conquest of istanbul were conquerred by Ottoman in 1454. The most ancient mufassal tahrir defters about these islands that we have got now organizing the date of 1489. The other tahrir defters were arranged in 1519, 1535, 1557, 1569, 1595, 1600, 1614. All these tahrirs belong to the liva of Gelibolu. Until the reign of Kanuni the islands of BogazönU. were depended on the liva of Gelibolu. `The Eyâlet o-f Kaptan Pasa' was established here at the reign of Kanuni. After the date of 1533, it was called Eyalet of Cezayir. The sistem of tımar was carried out until the reign of Kanuni. We found out these from the records of the tahrirs. Limnos's ` has ` were divided into ` zâim, mirliva and tımarlı Sipahies ` until the reign of Kanuni. The great parts of income tax of Limnos was assigned to havass-ı hümâyûn after 1569. There were three kinds of settlement places in these islands. These are monastery, villages and castles. At the end of the 15 th.century the population were decreased because of the war between Osmanlı - Venedik. But after a short time the Ottoman Empire established peace, quiet and the population increased immediately. It was known that from the end of 15 th century until 17 th century to be Turkized was the beginning of the position. In the following centuries it increased. According to the results deduced from tahrir defters that Hie the main sources of our research it could be observed that in 228this period the economic and social development and peace condition which was provided by Ottoman Empire caused the increasing of population. In the kanûnnames it is mentioned that these islands were commercial centers. It is clear that the end of 15 th until 17 th century in the islands of Bo9azönU the Social and economic situation were in wellfare. This was provided by the Ottoman rule. It can be ignored the importance of rules of political stability in addition to importance of possibilities of grawded Industrial plants and trade of living animals for providing this condition. 229
