Selanik Başpiskoposu Symeon`un tarihi nutku (1387-1429)

Abstract

Kırlıdökme-Mollaoğlu, Ferhan, Selanik Başpiskoposu Symeon'un Tarihi Nutku, (Aöyoç IaropiKOç) (1387-1429), Yüksek Lisans Tezi, Danışman: Prof. Dr. Melek Delilbaşı, HI-126 s. 1416/1417-1429 yılları arasında Selanik Başpiskoposluğu yapmış olan Symeon, Tarihi Nutuk adlı Bizans Yunancası ile yazdığı eserinde 1394- 1429 yılları arasındaki Selanik' in sosyal hayatı ve Osmanlılarla ilişkileri konusunda diğer kaynakları tamamlayan bilgilerin yanısıra, Bayezid'in İstanbul'u kuşatmasını, fetret döneminde Musa'nın Selanik'i kuşatmasında şehir halkının kenti Osmanlı şehzadesine teslim etmek için elçiler göndermesini, fetret döneminde Selanik' in tekrar Süleyman Çelebi tarafından Bizans'a devredilmesini, Manuel'in Osmanlı mücadelelerine zayıf olan şehzadeleri desteleyerek müdahale etmesini, Düzmece Mustafa olayını, I. Mehmed'in Bizans'ın desteği ile iktidarı ele geçirmesini, 1423 yılında Selanik'in Venedik' e devredilmesini, bunun üzerine II. Murad'ın Burak Bey, Saraceas ve Pazarlis gibi komutanlarla Selanik'i kuşatmasını ve burada uyguladığı fetih politikasını olayların bizzat içinde yer alan bir etkili kişi sıfatıyle orijinal bilgiler vermektedir. Tezin I. bölümünde Selanik Başpiskoposu Symeon'un hayatı ve eserleri anlatılmıştır. II. Bölümde Symeon'un eserinin tarihi değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır. III. bölümde ise Yunanca metin Türkçeye çevrilmiştir.128 Symeon'un eseri, Bizans'ın İstanbul'dan sonra en önemli şehri olan Selanik'in 1430 yılında Osmanlılar tarafından alınışını anlatan Johannis Anagnostis'in eserini tamamlayıcı niteliktedir. Bundan dolayı Symeon'un eserinin diğer Bizans ve Osmanlı kaynakları ile mukayeseli incelenmesinden Selanik'in Türkler tarafından nasıl alındığını aydınlatabilmesi mümkün olabilmektedir.

Symeon, who was Archibishop in Thessaloniki (Selanik) in 1416/1417-1429 has written his Historical Discourse in Byzantine Greek. In this Discourse Symeon gives information about the social history of Thessaloniki and the Ottoman Turks in the years 1394-1429 which can be discussed by the other sources of this period He also gives information about the siege ofBayezid I of Istanbul, the siege of Thessaloniki by Musa and the envoy of Thessalonians to the Ottoman prince to surrender him the town, the recovery of Thessaloniki to the Byzantine administration by the Ottoman prince Süleyman, the aid of Byzantine Emperor Manuel II to the Ottoman princes in their internal by providing help each time to the weak one, the situation of the Ottoman so called prince `Düzmece Mustafa`, the establishment of Venetian regime in Thessloniki in 1423 and the anger of Murad II who besieged the city by his commanders Burak, Saraceas and Pazarlis. All these information given by Symeon are his eyewitness account At the first chapter of the dissertation we discussed the life and literary works of Symeon, At the second chapter we have analyzed the discourse from historical aspect and at the third chapter we are giving the full translation of Discourse in Turkish.130 The Historical Discourse of Symeon fulfills the work of Johannis Anagnostis who has written about the Ottoman conquest of Thessakoniki in 1430. For all these reasons Symeon 's Historical Discourse provides a lot of information about the Ottoman conquest and administration of Thessaloniki when compared with the other Ottoman and Byzantine sources of the period
