Uzmanların mental modellerine dayalı elektronik performans destek sistemi geliştirilmesi ve diş hekimliği uygulaması

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı; uzmanların mental modellerine dayalı bir Elektronik Performans Destek Sistemi (EPDS) geliştirmek ve bu sistemin uygulanabilirliği ile kullanıldığı alana olan katkısını araştırmaktır. Diş hastalıkları ve tedavilerine yönelik geliştirilen bu model; kullanılacağı alanla ilgili literatür desteğinden çok uzmanların yıllarca edindikleri bilgi ve tecrübelerinin ortaya çıkarılıp kullanılması esasına dayanmaktadır. Geliştirilen model; uzmanların mental modelleri çıkarılıp, birleştirildikten sonra Netica programı yardımıyla kodlanmıştır. Gerçek klinik ortamında hasta üzerinde uygulaması yapılarak hem gözlem yöntemi hem de mülakat yöntemiyle hekimlerin görüş ve düşüncelerine yönelik veriler toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizi sonucunda diş hekimliğine yönelik geliştirilen bu EPDS'nin uygulanacak tedavilere karar verirken hekimlere yardımcı olabileceği, özellikle diş hekimi adayları için önemli bir performans desteği sağlayacağı ortaya çıkmıştır. Geliştirilen bu modelin kullanıcılarına ve kullanılan alana yaptığı katkı, aynı yöntemle farklı alanlarda kullanılacak EPDS'lerin geliştirilmesine ışık tutabilir.

The aim of this study is to develop an Electronic Performance Support System (EPSS) which is based on mental models of experts and to investigate the effect of this model to the field in which this model is used and to its users. This model, developed for dental illnesses and treatments is based on the principles of investigation and application of experts experiences that they acquired during long years rather than literature knowledge. The model that is developed is coded with the help of Netica programme after extracting and composing mental models of experts. The data, related to the views of doctors, is gathered by both interview and observation by performing application on patients in real clinical medium. In the result of data analysis, it is concluded that, EPDS, which is developed for dental medicine, can be helpful for dentist in determining the treatment to be applied and especially will provide an important performance support for the candidates of dental medicine. The contribution of this model to its users and the field in which this model is used can set light to develop EPDS?s that will be used in different fields with the same method.
