dc.description.abstract | CONCLUSION Tourism sector which has an important role in the deveiopement of countries' economies has to be encouraged by different incentives. However, assigned lands of goverment for long term use and low interest rate credits are the major incentives given to the sector in order to solve the fixed assets investment problems. On the other hand, I believe that big govermental associations who are owners of idle money such as Social Security Foundation and Retired Fund Society and gover mental or private insurance companies can play an active role in the investment of the touristic establishements. After the investment, through operation contracts, those establishements should be leased to local or international management firms and by this way a positive contri bution to Turkish economy could be realised. If we compare Spain, Italy and Turkey as regional touristic countries, we can easily remark that Turkey's tourism receipts are much less then those mentioned countries. Acoording to world statistics in 1991, Spain's, Italy's and Turkey's tourism receipts were 19 billion U.S. dollars, 18.9 billion U.S. dollars and 2.6 billion U.S. dollars consecutively. Those figures show us that Turkey is making its first steps on the sector and has to make investments in order to increase its share of gain from world tourism market For overcoming investments' financial problems, besides of many known methods, foreign capital is also accepted as a desired source of funds in tourism sector. Today, among the active foreign capital in Turkey, tourism sector is taking approximately a share of % 20.115 An other method that I can recommend for investment period of touristic estab- lishements is syndication. But, I will not give any explanation about this method because I believe that it is an other research subject of an other study. In this thesis, the method that I am recommanding for the operation period of tourism is factoring. As I explained in section five, factoring, being a short term credit alternative technique is easily adoptable to Turkish tourism sector. Finally, I strongly believe that due to practical application ability and different types of service advantages, the factoring method will be used in tourism sector and will continue to develope every day. | en_US |
