Isının yayılma yolları konusunda 5E modelinin derinleşme aşamasına yönelik olarak geliştirilen materyallerin etkililiğinin değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Bütünleştirici öğrenme teorisi öğrenme sürecinde öğrencileri aktif kılar. Bu kuram doğrultusunda anlamlı ve etkili öğrenmeyi sağlamak için, öğrenci ve öğretmenlere yönelik 5E modelinin derinleşme aşamasında rehber materyallere ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bu araştırma ile bütünleştirici öğrenme kuramının 5E modelinin derinleşme aşamasına yönelik olarak, 6. sınıf düzeyinde, ?Isının Yayılma Yolları? konusunda hazırlanan materyallerin etkililiğinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır.Çalışmada yarı deneysel yöntem kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışma 2006?2007 öğretim yılının ikinci döneminde bir uygulama öğretmeni ve 47 (24 deney, 23 kontrol) altıncı sınıf öğrencisi ile yürütülmüştür. Veri toplama araçları olarak açık uçlu sorulardan, mülakatlardan ve gözlemlerden faydalanılmıştır. Açık uçlu sorular ısının yayılma yolları konusunda bilgi ve derinleşme aşamalarına yönelik olarak hazırlanmıştır. Bu sorular örnekleme uygulama öncesinde ve sonrasında ön ve son test olarak uygulanıştır. Deney grubunda dersler, hazırlanan materyallerle yürütülürken, kontrol grubunda dersler mevcut ders kitapları kullanılarak işlenmiştir.Hazırlanan materyallerin öğrencilerin başarılarına (U =79, p<.05), (U =116, p<.05) olumlu katkısı olduğu, öğrencilerin bireysel, sosyal gelişimlerini ve bilimsel becerilerinin gelişmesini desteklediği sonucuna varılmıştır. Ayrıca deney grubu öğrencilerin kontrol grubu öğrencilerine göre günlük yaşamla ilgili daha farklı ve fazla örnekler sundukları görülmüştür. Son olarak, bütünleştirici öğrenme kuramının 5E modelinin derinleşme aşamasına uygun olarak farklı fen konularına yönelik materyaller hazırlanıp bu materyallerin öğrencilerin konuyu derinleştirmelerine olan etkililiği üzerine çalışmalar yapılması önerileriyle çalışma tamamlanmıştır.Anahtar Kelimeler: 5E Modeli, Isının Yayılma Yolları, Materyaller, DerinleşmeAşaması.

The constructivist learning theory supports the idea of student-centered approach in learning process. According to this theory, in order to provide meaningful and effective learning, some guided materials about the elaborate stage of the 5E model for students and teachers are needed. The aim of this study is to determine effectiveness of the materials about ?The Ways of Spread of Heat? based on the elaborate stage of the 5E Model on the sixth grade primary students.The quasi-experimental research desing was used . This study was carried out in second term of 2006-2007 instructional year with one practicing teacher and 47 sixth grade students, comprising an experiment group (24 students) and a control group (23 students). The data was collected by using open-ended questions, interviews and observations. Open-ended questions were developed to determine students? knowledge level and effectiveness of the materials on the elaborate stages related to the subject ?The Ways of Spread of Heat? . These questions were applied to the sample before and after the study as pre-post tests. While the develop materials were used at the experimental group, the course books were used at the control group.It was determined that the developed materials have more effect (U =79, p<.05), (U =116, p<.05) on the students? success. It concluded that the material also support students? individual and social development, and have positive effects on the development of scientific skills. In addition, it was noticed that students in the experimental group were able to relate the concepts with daily life more than the control group. This study is completed with the some suggestions that more research covering different units are needed to be studied for the purpose whether the finding below is valid for other units or discipline.Key Words: 5E Model, The Ways of Spread of Heat, Materials, Elaborate Stage.
