Vulpes vulpes (tilki) ve Meles meles (porsuk) türlerinin Köprülü kanyon milli parkı`ndaki habitat tercihi üzerine çalışmalar

Abstract

VULPES VULPES (TİLKİ) VE MELES MELES (PORSUK) TÜRLERİNİN KÖPRÜLÜ KANYON MİLLİ PARKI'NDAKİ HABITAT TERCİHİ ÜZERİNE ÇALIŞMALAR Anıl Soyumert ÖZ Karnivor büyük memeli hayvanlar, yaban hayatının en önemli parçalarından biridir. Bulundukları habitatlarda besin zincirinin en üst basamağını oluşturmalarından dolayı, sadece alt trafik seviyelerin bozulmadığı ekosistemlerde sağlıklı populasyonlar oluşturabilmektedirler. Bundan dolayı, bu canlıların habitat tercihleri ile ilgili çalışmalar, bulundukları bölgelerdeki ekosistem bütünlüğü hakkında önemli ipuçları vermektedir. Bu çalışmada, karnivor büyük memeli türlerinden Vulpes vulpes (tilki) ve Meles meles (porsuk)'in Köprülü Kanyon Milli Parkı'ndaki habitat tercihleri, farklı özellikler taşıyan dört habitat tipinde (sedir, karaçam, maki, kızılcam) çalışılmıştır. V. vulpes ve M. meles türlerinin habitat tercihlerinin belirlenmesinde koku istasyonu yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Habitat tercihi davranışlarını etkileyebilecek habitat özelliklerini belirlemek amacıyla çalışma alanlarında kurulan koku istasyonlarını temel alacak şekilde seçilen kuad raflarda vejetasyon analizleri yapılarak, habitat tiplerinin sahip olduğu odunsu bitki tür çeşitliliği, benzerlik ve yüzde örtüş değerleri belirlenmiştir. Koku istasyonlarından elde edilen verilerin değerlendirilmesi sonucunda; Köprülü Kanyon Milli Parkı'nda çalışma alanı olarak seçilmiş olan habitat tipleri arasında, V. vulpes'ın habitat tercihinin karaçam, maki, sedir, kızılcam; M. me/es'in habitat tercihinin ise sedir, maki, karaçam, kızılcam sırası ile olduğu belirlenmiştir. V. vulpes ve M. meles türlerinin habitat tercihi konusunda elde edilen sonuçlar, bu türlerle yapılmış olan başka çalışmaların sonuçları ile karşılaştırılmıştır. STUDIES ON HABITAT PREFERENCE OF VULPES VULPES (RED FOX) AND MELES MELES (EURASIAN BADGER) IN KÖPRÜLÜ KANYON NATIONAL PARK Anil Soyumert ABSTRACT Large carnivore mammals are one of the most important components of wildlife. Large carnivores form the top most layer of the food chain in their respective habitats, therefore they can only form healthy populations in ecosystems where the lower trophic levels are not damaged. Thus, studies concerning the habitat preferences of these animals can give us very important information about the whole of ecosystem they occupy. In this study, the habitat preferences of two large mammals Vulpes vulpes and Meles meles in four different habitat types (Taurus cedar, black pine, macquis and brutian pine) situated in Köprülü Kanyon National Park was evaluated. Scent-station method was used in determining the habitat preferences of V. vulpes and M. meles. In order to determine the habitat properties effecting the habitat preference behaviours of these mammals, vegetation structure of the selected habitats were evaluated by calculating the species diversity, similarity and percent coverage by the quadrat method. In selection of the quadrats scent stations in the study area were taken as references. Results obtained from the scent stations, showed the habitat preferences of V. vulpes to be, black pine, macquis, Taurus cedar, and brutian pine respectively and the preference of M. meles to be Taurus cedar, macquis, black pine and brutian pine, among the habitat types situated in Köprülü Kanyon National Park. Results obtained from the habitat preferences of V. vulpes and M. meles was compared with other studies conducted with the same species.
