Abstract

ÖZET Sanat hayatına Servet-i Fünûn topluluğunun en genç üyesi olarak başlayan Celâl Sâhir 1883 tarihinde İstanbul'da doğmuştur. Edebiyatımızda şiirleri, nesirleri ve yaymcılığıy- la rol' oynamış olan Celâl Sahir, Servet-i Fünûn, Fecr-i Ati, Milli Edebiyat ve Cumhuriyet dönemi edebiyat hare- teleri içinde yer almıştır. gürlerinin şekil ve muhteva özellikleri, dönemin akımları ve edebiyat hareketlerine göre değişiklik gös terse bile, o hep bir Servet-i Fünûn şâiri olarak kal mış; edebiyat tarihi ve antolojilerde `aşk ve kadın şâiri`, `feminist şâir` gibi isimlerle anılmıştır. gürlerinde işlenen başlıca temalar kadın, aşk> tabiat, yalnızlık, hayal-hakikat çatışması, ölüm, geç miş özlemi, ümitsizlik, kaçış ve sığınma duygusu., gibi Servet-i Fünûn ve Fecr-i Ati dönemlerinin ortak duyuş tarzından kaynaklanan konular etrafında döner. Milli Edebiyat döneminde' memleketin içinde bulun duğu durum, peşpeşe girilen savaşların yenilgisi, İs tanbul'un işgali ve Mondros Mütarekesi 'nin ortaya çı kardığı yıkım karşısında milli duyguları işleyen şiir ler yazmış, çeşitli dernek çalışmaları içinde yer alarak gazete ve dergi yayıncılığı yapmıştır. ^esirlerinde, çeşitli edebiyat meseleleri üzerinde durmuş, özellikle tiyatro ve tenkit konularında yazı lar kaleme almıştır.. Türk edebiyatı, batı edebiyatı, edebi eser ve şahsiyetler ile çeşitli sosyal ve aktü el konular, nesirlerinin diğer yönünü oluştururlar.II Başlangıçta Servet-i Fünün'un dil ve edebiyat an layışından büyük ölçüde etkilenen Celâl Sâhir, daha sonra oldukça sade bir dil kullanmış, halk şiiri söy leyiş şekillerinden faydalanmıştır. 1928 Zonguldak milletvekili olarak TBMM1 ye girmiş, Türk Dili Kurumu` nun kuruluş çalışmalarında (1932) ve ilk kurultaylarında aktif rol oynamıştır. 1935 yılında 52 yaşındayken ölen Celâl Sâhir; bi rinci derecede bir edebiyatçı olarak iz bırakmasa bile, enerjik, değişikliğe açık, edebiyat ve siyaset haya tımızda ortaya atılan akım ve inkılapların benimsen mesinde etkili olabilmiş, Türkiye'nin yirminci asrın başlarında yaşadığı macerayı şahsında temsil eden bir kişilik sergilemiştir. Celâl Sâhir' i bütün yönleriyle incelemeye yönelmiş olan bu monografik çalışma; şairin hayatinâeserlerini sosyal ve edebî kişiliğini, yaşadığı dönemlerin içinde ele alma amacını gütmüş, `sonuç` kısmında bir değer lendirme yapılmıştır.

Ill SUMMARY Celâl Sâhir, who has begun his career in literature as being the youngest member of Servet-i Fünûn Community, was born in Istanbul in 1883. Celâl Sâhir has played an important role in our literature with his poems, proses and with his achievement as an publisher. He has participated in various activities of Servet-i Fünûn, Fecri Ati, Millî Edebiyat in the literary period during the history of Turkish. Literature Although his poems differs some what from the properties, form and content that of literary movement of his period he has always stayed as a poet of Servet-i Fünûn and he was named as a `Poet of love woman` and `Feminist Poet` in the history of literature and anthologies. The main themes were worked in his poems are; woman, love, nature, loneliness, conflict between reality and imagination, death, nostalgia, desperation, and the feeling of runaway and, or taking refuge same as the subjects which were originated from the associated resources of Servet-i Fünûn and Fecr-i Ati periods. During the period of National Literature (: Milli Edebiyat) various factors forced him to write some poems taking into acount the national sensitive feeling and to join various associations and to publish newspaper and periodicals and magazines. The factors affecting him were: desperate conditions of the country, the occupation of Istanbul, unfair Armistice of Mondoros and the continual defeats of the country from various wars entered very frequently.iv In his work of prose he has emphasized en various problems of literature, especially on drama and critisizm. On the other hand the other subjects what he has tackled were Turkish and VJestern literatures, literary works and personalities, various social and actual subjects. In the beginning Celâl Sâhir has heem affected a great deal by the ways of understanding of literature and language of Servet-i Fünün, but latter on he has rather prefered to use simplier and plane lamguage and he has made use of the style of folk poetry. He was elected as a member of Grand National Assembly of Turkey from Zonguldak in 1928. He has made a considerable study in establishing `Turkish Language Institution`, He has played an important role in the first Congress of this institution in 1932. He died in 1935 when he was 52 years old. Even though he didn't give an impression of firsty class literary man, he was enthusiastic, open to ohanges, and energetic. He has influenced a great deal in establishing the revolutions and ideas either in literature and in political life. He has exhibited an influencial personality in representing the adventures at early stage of 20 th century in Turkey. This monografhic work aimed to study Celâl Sâhir with all aspects, namely his life as a poet, his works, his sbcial and literary personality in his life period. As a conclusion an evaluation has been done.
