E VISUAL EVOKED POTENTIALS IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE To establish the hypoxic neuropathy occured in chronic obsructive pulmonary disease by an electrophysiologic method, we examined the characteristics of PR VEP of 40 patients with chronic obsructive pulmonary disease and 26 healty persons. The sight angle of the cases for one square was 62 minutes. We noted the amplitude of PR VEP and P 100 latency values one by one for the left and right eye. The values PR VEP P 100 latency determined in the group of chronic obsructive pulmonary disease was significantly long when compared with the control group ( 113,7 ± 6,7 ms and 110,5 ± 4,4 ms respectively ). The corelation between the values of PR VEP P 1 00 latency and the age of the patients and the period of the disease was proved in the patients of chronic obsructive pulmonary disease. But there was no significant systatistical difference of amplitude between the patient and healty groups. As a conclusion, we consider the delay of PR VEP P 100 latency was related to demyelinization, axonal degeneration, endoneuronal hypoxi, endoneuronal microangiopathy and the resistance to ischemic conduction failure. 29en_US
