dc.description.abstractThe subject of this study is CemT, Who is one ofthe divan poets in 17th century. It has been stated in the sources that he is from Istanbul. His birth date is not known. His death date is 1070 H./1659 AD. He became a judge after he accomplished his education. This study has been prepared as three sections excluding introduction. In `introduction` the age of the poet has been explained briefly and some information on the situation of the policy, culture and literature of his age. The first section consists of the life and the literary personality of the poet and the subject about `other poet who have used the name CemT. The second section ofthe study is formed in two parts. These are `the formal properties and the properties ofthe content`. 1) The formal properties a) The forms ofthe poetry: The divan consists of, 25 `kaside`s - poem of more than fifteen rhyming distichs in which a person is praised-, 149 `gazeFs - lyric poem of a certain pattern (comprising 4-15 couplets with the first couplet rhyming, and all the second hemistichs rhyming with the hemistichs ofthe first couplet) -, 1 `terlrib-i bend` - long poem each stanza of which is followed by a refrain couplet, these couplets rhyming among themselves -, l`terci-i bend` -long poem with a recurrent couplet at the end of each stanza-, 2 `tesdis`es - a composing a poem of stanzas of six distichs or hemistichs -, 1 `tahmis'' - poem composed by adding three lines rhyming with the first line of each couplet of a gazel -, 4 `mesnevTs, - poetry composed in rhymed couplets each couplet being of a different rhyme but the whole of one meter -, 40 `kit'a`s - piece of poetry of two or more couplets, complete in itself as to idea-, 1 `nazun` - verse -, and 35 `beyifs - couplets -. b) Meter: 20 different prosody techniques have been used c) Rhyme and `redir - word repeated at the and of every couplet of a poem- : Redif has been used in 13 1 `gazeTs of 149 and 16 `kaside''s of 25. 2) Properties of content a) `Ayet` s - verses of the Quran - and `hadis`es - record of a saying or action of the Prophet Mohammed. b) Proverbs c) Idioms d) Traditions and believings e) Good sayings f) Literary arts In addition to the sources which are used directly, some books to which we made references are listed in alphabetical order in the section of the abbreviations. The third section of the study consists of a criticizing text which was formed by transforming the Arabic text using Latin Alphabet In this section the different aspects of the 8 available versions are also stated in the footnote.en_US
