Türkiyede turizm mimarisi olgusunun, yerden bağımsızlık, kimliksizlik ve yeniden işlevlendirme kavramları açısından irdelenmesi: Akdeniz bölgesi, Antalya örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Türkiye?de Turizm Mimarisi, Akdeniz Bölgesi, Antalya Örneği ile, `yerden bağımsızlık, kimliksizlik ve yeniden işlevlendirme kavramlarının irdelenmesini içermektedir. Antalya kent dokusu içinde yer alan turizm yapılarının tarihsel sürece bağlı değişimi ve çeşitliliği incelenerek, sürece etki eden kriterler ve politikalar, mimari müdahale yöntemlerinin boyutu ve önemi araştırılmıştır. Bunlara ek olarak, mekanın tüketimi için birer araç olabilen turizm mimarisi üzerinden `yer olgusu, örnek durumlar üzerinden incelenmiştir. Tarihi ve çok katmanlı bağlamda, tasarımın ve koruma/yeniden işlevlendirme pratiklerindeki tasarım kararlarının imge, kimlik ve bellek açısından belirli tavırlar ortaya koyabileceği, turizm mimarisi açısından değerlendirilmiştir.Çalışma beş bölümden oluşmaktadır.Birinci bölümde, turizm, turizm mimarisi, turist olgusu, tarihsel gelişim süreci ve turizm yapılarında mimari planlama özelliklerine dair literatür araştırması yer almaktadır.Araştırma, ikinci bölümde, turizm mimarisine etki eden kriterler, politikalar ve kıyı kesimlerinin turizm mimarisi bağlamında değerlendirilmesi konularını irdelemektedir.Çalışmanın üçüncü bölümünde, turizm mimarisinin, anlamsal ve kültürel sürdürülebilirliği irdelenmiştir. Bu bölümde, turizm mimarisi bağlamında yer ve yerden bağımsızlık kavramları anlamsal ve kültürel sürdürülebilirlik ile ilişkilendirilmiştir. Bu olguların oluşturmakta olduğu kimlik ve kimliksizlik durumları da, örneklemeler ile araştırılmıştır.Dördüncü bölümde, tuizm mimarisi ve kültür varlıkları, korunumu ele alınmıştır. Buna ek olarak, turizm mimarisi katmanlılık olgusu ile birlikte değerlendirilmiş, yeniden işlevlendirme durumunda `palimpsest kavramı araştırılmıştır. Bu bağlamda, bir önceki bölümde yer alan kimlik, bellek ve anlamsal, kültürel sürdürülebilirlik gibi konuların tümü birlikte irdelenmiştir.Sonuç bölümünde ise genel bir değerlendirme yapılmış, Türkiye, Antalya, turizm mimarisi örneğinde yer olgusunda, kimlik, anlam, bellek durumlarının, yeniden işlevlendirme, palimpsest kavramı ile değerlendirildiğinde nitelikli yapılanmaların gerçekleştirilebileceği vurgulanmaktadır.Anahtar Sözcükler Turizm Mimarisi, Yerden Bağımsızlık, Kimlik, Anlam, Bellek, Katmanlılık, Palimpsest, Yeniden İşlevlendirme

This study is a discussion of the architecture of tourism in Turkey, by the means of a case study of Mediterranean Turkey and Antalya, and also through the concepts of placelessness, identitylessness and adaptive re-use. The diversity and historical transformation of the facilities for tourism in Antalya's urban fabric are surveyed, and the criteria, policies and methods of architectural interventions affecting the related processes are researched for their weight and importance. Additionally, the phenomenon of `place`, which may sometimes be an instrument for the consumption of space, is examined through case studies. The possibility of identity- and memory-related attitudes with design decisions in the practices of design and preservation/adaptive re-use in historic and layered contexts is evaluated in terms of architecture of tourism.The study consists of five sections.Section one is comprised of a literature survey on tourism, architecture of tourism, the concept of `tourist` and its historical development, as well as the features of planning in the facilities for tourism.In the second section of the investigation, the criteria that affect the architecture of tourism are examined in the context of policies and the architecture of tourism in coastal areas. Section three of the study discusses the semantic and cultural sustainability of the architecture of tourism. In this section, the concepts of place and placelessness are linked to semantic and cultural sustainability in the context of the architecture of tourism. The cases of identity and identitylessness caused by these phenomena are researched by the means of examples.In section four, the focus is on the architecture of tourism and the preservation of cultural heritage. Additionally, the architecture of tourism is examined through a lens of layeredness, and the concept of 'palimpsest' in cases of adaptive re-use is studied. In this context, the themes of identity, memory, as well as semantic and cultural sustainability are discussed all together.A general assessment is made in the final section and it is emphasized that successful developments should be achievable, upon the evaluation of identity, meaning and memory within the phenomenon of `place` in the architecture of tourism in Antalya, Turkey.KeywordsArchitecture of Tourism, Placelessness, Identity, Meaning, Memory, Layeredness, Palimpsest, Adaptive Re-Use
