Dr. Ahmet ÖZTAŞ Eylül 2002, 98 sayfa Bu tezde, Türk Çimento Endüstrisinin (TÇE) Toplam Kalite Yönetimi (TKY) felsefesini uyguluma seviyesi belirlenmeye çalışıldı. Bunun için öncelikle TKY ve Çimento Endüstrisi ile ilgili geniş bir literatür taraması yapıldı. Çimento sektöründe yapılan kalite çalışmaları incelendi. TKY felsefesinin uygulanabilmesi için gerekli olan elamanlar, felsefesinin temel özellikleri ve felsefenin kurucularının konuya yaklaşımları açıklandı. Daha sonra çimento sektörünün: tarihi gelişimi, üretim yöntemleri, sektörün genel karakteristik özellikleri, dünyadaki ve Türkiye deki genel durumu açıklandı. TÇE TKY felsefesinin uygulama seviyesinin belirlenmesi anket çalışması ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Anket Türkiye Çimento Müstahsilleri Birliği (TÇMB) üyelerine uygulanmıştır. Anket çalışması SPSS 11.0 for Windows programı ile değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular ile TÇE felsefeyi uygulamadaki seviyesi belirlenmiş, eksik olduğu noktalar tespit edilmiştir. ABSTRACT EVALUATION OF APPLICABILITY OF TQM PHILOSOPHY IN TURKISH CEMENT INDUSTRY ÖZBAY, Erdoğan M.Sc. in Civil Eng. Supervisor: Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmet ÖZTAŞ September 2002, 98 pages In this thesis, the level of application of Total Quality Management (TQM) philosophy in Turkish cement industry is investigated. Firstly, a long literature survey was conducted about TQM and cement industry. Other works about quality in cement industry were studied. The elements necessary for the application of the TQM philosophy, basic features of it, and views and ideas of the founders of it were explained. Then a brief history, production methods, major characteristics and general situation of the cement industry in Turkey and in the world were given. A questionnaire study was conducted to obtain a clear picture of TQM application in Turkish cement industry. The questionnaire was applied to the member firms of Turkish Cement Manufacturers' Association. An outline of TQM applications in the sector was made after evaluating the questionnaire. Lastly, some solutions for the shortcomings in TQM applications of the firms were offered. The questionnaire results were evaluated by using SPSS 1 1.0 For Windows.
