dc.description.abstract | SUMMARY The chemical composition of the volatile oil from Micromeria cilicica commonly known as `Fihsgin`, `Kaya Yarpuzu` gathered in the Girmeler Fethiye is reported. The volatile oil has been obtained from Micromeria cilicica by hydrodistillation in laboratory scale and steam distillation in plot scale. The volatile oil obtained by hydrodistillation yields Was %0,88, and obtained by steam distillation yields was %0,53 respectively. The obtained oils have been analysized GC, GC/MS, CC, TLC, IR, ^-NMR, l3C-NMR to caracterized components of the volatile oils. This species was found to contain pulegone (%66,58) and p-menthone (%31,35) types of monocyclic monoterpenes as the most important components of its essential oil. According to this analyses 39 components in hydrodistillation 34 components in steam distillation have been identified. The chemical compotition of the essential of Micromeria cilicica and pulegone the major component of the essential oil and the fractions of seconder metabolits of Micromeria cilicica obtained by acetone extraction which are hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate and n-butanole, have been studied against some bacteria and yeast. The extracts showed antimicrobiological activity to Gram(+) bactaria and yeast much greather than Gram(-) bacteria. | en_US |
