Abstract

Prof. Dr. Tokay GEDiKOĞLÜ Haziran, 1992, 135 sayfa Bu, çalışma Gaziantep üniversitesi Hazırlık Seksiyonu öğrencilerinin yabancı dil öğreniminde kullandıkları `öğrenme stratejileri' ve başarı skorları arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırma amacı ile yapılmıştır. Denek olarak tüm Hazırlık Seksiyonu öğrencileri ve sınıf öğretmenleri alınmıştır, öğrenme stratejileri ile ilgili veriler 'öğrenci anketi' ve ` öğrenci değerlendirme formu' kullanılarak toplanmıştır, öğrenme stra-tejilerinin_ hatırlama, bilişsel, telafi, bilişsel alan ötesi, duyuşsal, ve sosyal _ kullanımı ve öğrenci başarısı arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırmak amacı ile bir korelasyon çalışması yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın sonucunda (a) öğrencilerin kullandıklarını belirttikleri öğrenme stratejileri ve başarıları arasındaki ilişkiler `duyuşsal alan stratejileri' haricinde düşük olmakla birlikte istatiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur. (b) ikinci korelasyon çalışması öğretmenlerin öğrencilerinin kullandıklarını belirttikleri öğrenme stratejileri ve başarı skorları arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırmak amacı ile yapılmış ve aynı değişkenler arasında bu çalışmada tüm ilişkiler istatistiksel olarak anlamlı, ve daha yüksek olarak ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu korelasyon çalışmalarına ek olarak öğrencilerin öğrenci anketinde verilen her bir öğrenme stratejisini kullanma frekansı bir yüzde çalışması İle ifade edilmiş ve bu değerlendirme daha sonra bu alanda yapılabilecek bir çalışmaya ışık tutması amacı ile tablolar halinde sunulmuştur. ABSTRACT AN ANALYSIS OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LEARNING STRATEGIES AND ACHIEVEMENT OF THE PREPARATORY STUDENTS IN EEL AT THE UNIVERSITY OF GAZİANTEP SANAL, Jale M. This study is an attempt to investigate the relationship between the students' uae of learning strategies and their achievement in foreign language learning at the University of Gaziantep. The subjects were the total population of the Preparatory Section students and their instructors. Data on the degree of us'-- of learning strategies were gathered by means of a student questionnaire and 'a student evaluation form' on a 5- point scale, A coi*relation study was conducted to investigate the relationship between the use of learning strategies _ memory, cognitive, compensation, metacognitive, affective and social_ and achievement scores of the students. The results of the first correlation study indicated that (a) there were low but statistically significant relationships between the use of learning strategies perceived by students and their achievement except the relationship between the use of ` affective strategies' and achievement, (b) In contrast to the results obtained from the first correlation study, the relationships between the students'' use of learning strategies perceived by instructors and students' achievement scores were found to be higher in the second correlation study. In addition to the correlation study, the frequency of each learning strategy use by students was expressed in percentages.
