Abstract

Bu çalışmada temel amaç Öğrencilerin Present Perfect Tense'i kullanırken karşılaştıkları güçlükleri araştırmak olmuştur, öğrencilerin zorluklarla karşılaştıkları alanların araştırılmasından sonra, araştırmacı bu üç bölümde bulunan öğrencilerin Present Perfect Tense'i kullanımları arasında bir farklılığın varolup olmadığını bulmaya çalışması oluşturmuştur. En son olarak da, eğitim sisteminin öğrencilerin Present Perfect Tense kullanımlarını farklı şekillerde etkileyip etkilemediğinin cevabı bulunmaya çalışılmıştır. Verileri elde edebilmek içiniki pasaj kullanılmıştır. Anket Randomly seçilmiş guruplara verildikten sonra elde edilen veriler hipotezler doğrultusunda analizleri yapılmak üzere Descriptive bir çalışma yürütülmüştür. Daha sonra bu üç gurup öğrencilerin başarılarını mukayese etmek ve arada herhangi bir eğitimsel İlişkinin olup olmadığını ortaya koymak için non-param«»tric bir test olan chi-square kullanılmıştır. ABSTRACT AN ANALYSIS OF THE PROBLEMS FACED BY TURKISH SPEAKERS OF ENGLISH IN THE USE OF PRESENT PERFECT TENSE ZAHTEROGULLARI, Ömer M. A. in English Language Teaching Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tokay GEDÎKOGLU February, 1994, 122 pages This study aims at analyzing major problems in the use of present perfect tense (PPT) by the Turkish students both at Preparatory and Freshman classes of the Department of Foreign Languages and at Yadimer, A Foreign Language Teaching Center, at the university of Gaziantep. The focus is on the investigation of the difficulties faced by the students in the use of Present Perfect Tense. After the analysis of the difficulties in the area, the researcher wanted to investigate whether the students' uses of Present Perfect Tense differed or not. Finally, the researcher attempted to find an answer to what extent the teaching methodologies affected the students' uses of Present Perfect Tense. Two passages were used to collect data. After the administration of the tests to randomly selected groups, in the direction of the hypotheses, a descriptive type of investigation has been undertaken to analyse the data gathered. Later, the three groups of students' achievements have been compared through a non-parametric test of significance, chi-square. The analysis of the data has indicated that there were no significant differences between the three groops in the use of Present Perfect Tense. Science Code: ELT 599 ili
