Çoklu zekâ kuramına göre geliştirilen eğitim durumlarının yabancı dil ağırlıklı lise 9. sınıf öğrencilerinin İngilizce dersindeki başarılarına ve derse ilişkin tutumlarına etkisi

Abstract

Çoklu zekâ kuramı, zekânın çoklu bir yapıya sahip oldugu gerçegini ortayakoymustur. Bu çalısmanın amacı; çoklu zekâ kuramına göre gelistirilen egitimdurumlarının yabancı dil agırlıklı lise 9. sınıf ngilizce dersinde ögrencilerinbasarılarına ve derse iliskin tutumlarına etkisini incelemektir. Arastırma,öntest-sontest gruplu deneysel bir çalısma olup, arastırma grubunu 2005- 2006egitim-ögretim yılında Gaziantep ili Sahinbey ilçesi Cumhuriyet Lisesi(Y.D.A.L.)'nde 9. sınıfta ögrenim görmekte olan 60 ögrenci olusturmaktadır.Arastırma grubu, kontrol ve deney gruplarından olusmaktadır. Kontrol grubunda 18kız ve 12 erkek olmak üzere 30 ögrenci, deney grubunda ise 20 kız ve 10 erkekolmak üzere 30 ögrenci bulunmaktadır. Kontrol grubunda dersler geleneksel yabancıdil ögretim yöntem ve teknikleriyle islenirken, deney grubundaki dersler ise çokluzekâ kuramı ilkelerine göre islenmistir. Kontrol ve deney gruplarına uygulamaöncesinde ve sonrasında basarı testi ve tutum ölçegi uygulanmıstır. Her iki gruptakidersler arastırmacı tarafından yürütülmüstür. Uygulama 5 hafta sürmüs olup, toplam40 ders saatini kapsamaktadır. Çalısma sonucunda elde edilen veriler bilgisayarSPSS programı kullanılarak degerlendirilmistir. Bu arastırmanın sonucunda, çokluzekâ kuramına göre gelistirilen egitim durumlarının ögrencilerin ngilizce dersindekibasarılarını arttırdıgı ve derse iliskin tutumlarında olumlu yönde degisiklikleryarattıgı görülmüstür.

Multiple intelligences theory has proved that intelligence has multi parts.The aim of the sutdy is the analysis of the effects of the instruction based on multipleintelligences theory on the students? achievements in English classes and thesutudents? attitudes towards the English classes at 9th grade at foreign languagebased high school It is an experimental study with pre-test and post-test model andin the study group there are 60 students at 9th grade at Cumhuriyet High School inthe school year of 2005-2006 in Sahinbey in Gaziantep. The study group iscomposed of two groups, a control group and an experimental group. In the controlgroup, there are 18 female students and 12 male students and in the experimentalgroup 20 female students and 10 male students. Lessons are presented throughtraditional foreign languages teaching methods and technniques in the control groupand in the experimnental group, they are presented through activities based onmultiple intelligences theory. The exam and attitudes? scale were put before and atferthe practice in both groups.The lessons were presented by the researcher. The studylasted 5 weeks including 40 hours. The outputs were analysed through SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Sciences). At the end of the study, it has been realisedthat the instruction based on multiple intelligences theory has increased the students?achievements in English classes and has made positive effects on the students?attitudes towards English.
