Gelişmekte olan ülkelerde kadın eğitimi ile büyüme ve kalkınma arasındaki ilişki

Abstract

Eğitim, toplumların ekonomik ve sosyal olarak ilerlemesi için mutlak olarak ihtiyaç duyulan bir öğrenim sürecidir. Eğitim ve kalkınma arasında çok önemli bir ilişki mevcuttur.Eğitimin iktisadi gelişme ve refahı artırdığının genel kabul görmesiyle birlikte, bu konuyla ilgili yapılan çalışmalar artırmış ve daha özellikli alanlara yönelinmiştir. Bu alanlardan biri olan kadın eğitimi ve kadın-erkek arasındaki eğitim açığı, ekonomik boyutları incelendiğinde araştırmaya değer bulguların olduğunu göstermektedir. Eğitim göstergeleri kadın ve erkek arasında eşit dağılmamakta ve ülkelerin gelişmişlik düzeyine, yaş ve gelir gruplarına göre farklılık göstermektedir.Az gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkelerde kadın eğitimi, kalkınma planlarında görmezlikten gelinmiştir. Ancak, eğitimin ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkisi birçok ampirik çalışmaya konu olmuş ve hemen hepsinde eğitimin büyümeye önemli ölçüde katkı sağladığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca eğitimin kadınlara sağladığı getirinin, erkeklere göre daha yüksek olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu bulgular, kadınların eğitim düzeylerinin yükseltilmesi gereğinin ekonomik gerekçesini oluşturmaktadır.Çalışmada, gelişmekte olan ülkelerde kadın eğitiminin ekonomik büyümeye katkısı ve Türkiye'deki kadın eğitim oranlarının büyüme ve üretim üzerindeki etkileri ekonometrik bir çalışma ile incelenmiştir. Uygulama sonucunda Türkiye'de kadın eğitimi ve kadınların istihdamı ile büyüme arasında anlamsız bir ilişki, buna karşın gelişmekte olan ülkelerde kadın eğitimi ile büyüme arasında anlamlı ancak kadının ekonomik aktivitelere katılım oranı ile büyüme arasında anlamsız bir ilişki bulunmuştur.Anahtar Kelimeler: Eğitim, Büyüme, Kadın Eğitimi, Eğitim ve Kalkınma

Education is the learning process to improvement as an economical and as a social growth to need by nations. There is closely relationship between education and development.Along with in general acceptance that education increase to economic development and social wealfare, practice of this topic has been raised and more specific field has been investigated. As a result of investigations, education indications do not become scatter equaly between women and men and show diversity with respect to growth level of countries, age and income of groups. Despite the fact that positive contribution of women?s education to the growth and society has been known, education of women in many nations, particularly in developing countries, needs to attract more attention. However, the impact of education on economic growth was the subject of many empirical studies and in almost empirical studies, education has been found to contribute to growth significantly. Also the net return of education and training on women are much more there of men. Equality of gender in education process affects economic development positively. These findings provide the economical reason for the need for increasing the education level of women.The aim of this paper is to investigate the relationship between women?s education and growth, and this paper analyses the economic dimension of women?s education and examines its possible contributions to developing countries. There is negative relationship between women?s education, women employment and growth in Turkey. In developing countries there is positive relationship between women?s education and growth, but negative relationship between women economic participation and growth.Key Words: Education, Growth, Women?s Education, Education and Development
