Üniversite öğrencilerinin üniversite ve ideal üniversite algıları

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın temel amacı Gaziantep Üniversitesinde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin, Gaziantep Üniversitesi ve ideal üniversite algılarını metaforlar yoluyla ortaya çıkarmaktır. Bu araştırmada öğrencilerin, metaforlar aracılığıyla kendilerini daha iyi ifade edebilecekleri düşünülmüş ve araştırma için öğrencilerden Gaziantep Üniversitesi ve ideal üniversite ile ilgili benzetmelerde bulunup nedenini açıklamaları istenmiştir. Bu kapsamda öğrencilere üniversite ve ideal üniversite ile ilgili toplam beş kavram verilmiştir: `Üniversitenin sosyal yaşantı alanı, üniversite öğrencilerin kendi aralarındaki ilişki, öğretim elemanlarıyla öğrenciler arasındaki ilişki, üniversite fiziki yapısı ve üniversite idari yapısı`. Öğrencilerden bu kavramlarla hem Gaziantep Üniversitesi açısından hem de ideal üniversite açısından benzetmelerde bulunup, nedenlerini açıklamaları istenmiştir. Örneğin:a)Gaziantep Üniversitesi sosyal yaşantı alanı .... gibidir. Çünküb)İdeal üniversite sosyal yaşantı alanı .... gibi olmalıdır. ÇünküAraştırmada verilerin toplanması, analizi ve yorumlanmasında nitel araştırma yöntemi, teknik olarak da metafor analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2010-2011 öğrenim döneminde Gaziantep Üniversitesinde öğrenim gören II. ve III. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda Gaziantep Üniversitesinin az sayıda öğrenci için ideal bir üniversite kategorisinde olduğu, fakat öğrencilerin çoğunluğu için ideal bir üniversite kategorisinde olmadığı görülmüştür.Anahtar kelimeler: Metafor, Üniversite Öğrencileri, Üniversite, İdeal Üniversite

The purpose of this study is to analyze the perception that the Gaziantep university students have on the university and the ideal university by using metaphors. It is thought that through metaphors students can express themselves more clearly. So according to this aim the students had demanded to produce metaphors about the concepts of ` university social life, the relationship between lecturers and students and the ideal university social life, in an ideal university the relationship _between lecturers and students. For example; the students who participated in the research were asked to complete the sentences `a) Gaziantep university social life is like??..because; b) An ideal university social life is like??..because;In this study quantitative method and metaphor analysis technique are used for collecting, analyzing and commenting on the data of the _research. The _participants of this study included II. and III. grade students of the Gaziantep university.According to the results of the research it is seen that the metaphors which are produced by the students are variable. For some students Gaziantep University is an ideal university but for most students it is very different from an ideal university.Key words: Metaphor, University Students, University, Ideal University.
