Üniversite öğrencilerinde sosyal fobi ile benlik saygısı arasındaki ilişki ve etkileyen faktörler

Abstract

ÖZET Yüksek Lisans Tezi ÜNİVERSİTE ÖĞRENCİLERİNDE SOSYAL FOBİ İLE BENLİK SAYGISI ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİ VE ETKİLEYEN FAKTÖRLER Nurgül ÖZDEMİR. Gaziantep Üniversitesi -Sağlık Bilimleri Enstitüsü, Psikiyatri Hemşireliği Anabilim Dalı Tez Yöneticileri :Doç.Dr.Hamdi TUTKUN &Yrd.Doç.Dr. Gülümser SERTBAŞ Ağustos-2004, 114 sayfa Araştırma üniversite öğrencilerinde sosyal fobi ile benlik saygısı arasındaki ilişki ve etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesi amacıyla tanımlayıcı bir çalışma olarak yapılmıştır. 2003-2004 Eğitim ve Öğretim döneminde Aralık 2003- Nisan 2004 tarihleri arasında 5 fakülte, 2 yüksekokul, 2 meslek yüksekokulu ve Türk Musikisi Devlet Konservatuarı dahilinde yer alan 27 bölümün birinci sınıfında 375 kız, 635 erkek olmak üzere 1010 öğrenci örnekleme alınmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan sosyo-demografik değişkenlerden oluşan bireysel bilgi formu, Liebowitz Sosyal Anksiyete Ölçeği ( LSAS ) ve Coopersmith benlik saygısı envanteri ( CBSE ) kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin değerlendirilmesinde ki-kare testi, student's t testi varyans analizi ( one-way ANOVA ) ve Post-hoc değerlendirmede Tukey's honestly significant difference testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre öğrencilerin % 3 6,1 'inde sosyal fobi, % 27,0'ında sosyal fobi korku, % 48,5'inde sosyal fobi kaçınma tanıları saptanmıştır. Sosyal fobi tanısı alan öğrencilerin benlik saygısı puanı düşük bulunmuştur (p < 0,05 ). Sosyal fobi tanısını yaş, cinsiyet, anne-babanın eğitim durumu ve tutumu, gelir düzeyi, öğrencilerin daha önce yaşadıkları yer gibi faktörlerin etkilediği belirlenmiştir ( p < 0,05 ). Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda araştırmacı tarafından sosyal fobi tanısının toplumumuzda azaltılmasına yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur.. ABSTRACT IN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOCIAL PHOBIA AND SELF-ESTEEM AND THE FACTORS AFFECTING IT Nurgül ÖZDEMIR Thesis for Master's Degree Gaziantep University Health Sciences Institute Department of Psychiatry Nursing Thesis Advisors: Asst. Prof. Dr. Gülümser SERTBAŞ August 2004, 1 14 pages This study was carried out descriptively in order to determine the relationship between Social Phobia and Self-Esteem and the factors affecting it. In the education year of 2000-2004, between December 2003 and April 2004, totally 1010 freshmen (375 females 635males) of 37 section involving in 5 faculties, 2 higher schools, 2 higher trade schools and Turkish Classical Music State Conservatory, enrolled in the sampling. As a data collection tool, a developed by the researcher a Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale (LSAS) and a Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory (CSEI) was used. In the evaluation of data obtained, chi-Square test, student's t test, variance analysis (one-way ANOVA) and in post_hoc assessment Tukey's Honestly Significant Difference test was used. According to the results obtained from research, 36,1 % students diagnosed with social phobia., 27 % with fear of social phobia and 48,5 % with avoidance from social phobia. Self-esteem scores of students diagnosed with social phobia were found low (p<0,5), it was determined that diagnose of social phobia was affected by the factors such as age, gender, behaviors and education of parents income level, and students previous places of residence (p <0,05). In line with the results obtained from research suggestions in regards to reducing the social phobia in our community were made by the researcher.
