Abstract

ÖZET İlköğretim okulu müdürlerinin liderlik davranişlariyla öğretmenlerin öğrenci kontrol yaklaşımları ve öğrencilerin okul yaşamının niteliğine ilişkin algıları arasındaki ilişkiler YILMAZ, KÜRŞAD Yüksek Lisans-2002 Eğitim Yönetimi, Teftişi, Planlaması ve Ekonomisi Danışman: Yrd. Dr. Selahattin TURAN Bu çalışmanın amacı; ilköğretim okulu yöneticilerinin liderlik davranışları ile öğretmenlerin sahip oldukları öğrenci kontrol yaklaşımları arasındaki ilişkinin varlığını ve bunun kaliteli okul yaşamı niteliği üzerindeki etki derecesini araştırmaktır. Bu çalışmada, geleneksel okulu temsil eden devlet okullarındaki öğrenci kontrolünün ve okul yaşamının niteliği belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışmada tarama (betimleme) modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini Kütahya il merkezinde bulunan ilköğretim okullarında çalışan öğretmenler ve öğrenciler oluşturmuştur. Örneklemini ise il merkezindeki 13 ilköğretim okulundaki öğretmenler ve bu okullardan tesadüfi olarak seçilen öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın verileri, 13 ilköğretim okulundaki 322 öğretmen ve 1469 öğrenciden toplanmıştır. Veriler, ölçekler aracılığı ile toplanmıştır. Hipotezleri test etmek için korelasyon analizlerinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre; ilköğretim okulu yöneticilerinin liderlik davranışları ile öğretmenlerin kontrol yaklaşımları arasında ters bir ilişki vardır. Yöneticisi destekleyici olan öğretmen gözetimci eğilimli, tersine, emredici (direktif) olunca da insancıl (hümanist) eğilimli olmaktadır. Ancak, bu liderlik davranışlarının öğrencilerin okul yaşamının niteliğine ilişkin görüşlerini olumlu olarak etkilediği görülmüştür.

Ill ABSTRACT A STUDY OF LEADERSHIP BEHAVIORS OF PRIMARY SCHOOL'S ADMINISTRATORS, THE PUPIL CONTROL IDEOLOGY AS PERCEIVED BY TEACHERS AND THE QUALITY OF SCHOOL LIFE AS PERCIEVED BY STUDENTS YILMAZ, KÜRŞAD Master Thesis-2002 Educational Administration, Supervision, Planning and Economics Advisor: Selahattin TURAN, Assistant Professor The purpose of this study was to examine the existence of the relationship between the leadership behaviors of the primary school's administrators and the pupil control ideology that the teachers had and its effects on the quality of school life. In this study, the degree of control in public schools, which represents traditional schools, was tried to be defined. In this study, survey method was used. Population of the study was the teachers and the students in the primary schools which are placed in the city of Kütahya. And the sample was, the teachers from the 13 primary schools and the students who were selected randomly from these schools. Data were collected from 322 teachers and 1469 students in 13 public primary schools. Data were collected by questionnaires. Correlation analyses were performed to test the hypotheses of the study. Results of the study indicated that the existence of negatif relationship between the leadership behaviors of primary school administrators and the pupil control ideology of teachers. The teachers whose administrator was supportive, was custodial; and on the opposite the one whose administrator was directive, was humanistic. But, both of this administrator behavior, affects positively to the view of students about the quality of school life.
