Milli Mücadele Dönemi Türk basınında tarihsel bir tartışma; Manda mı? Himaye mi? Bağımsızlık mı?

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Milli Mücadele Döneminde insanları etkileyebilen tek araç konumundaki basının belirli bir dönemde yoğun olarak tartışılan manda, himaye ve bağımsızlık kavramlarına ne şekilde yaklaştıklarını tespit etmek ve tarihin şekillenmesinde ne tür bir rol oynadıklarını araştırmaktır. Çalışmanın verileri, belirlenen dönemin ulaşılabilen gazetelerinden toplanmış ve elde edilen gazeteler okunarak yorumlanmıştır. Sonuçta, basının özellikle İstanbul cihetinde oldukça taraftar bulan ve kamuoyunu bir süre meşgul eden manda ve himaye meselesi; ister müzaheret, ister vekâlet, isterse de muavenet anlamlan verilerek kullanılmış olsun pek çok aydın ve idarecinin, vatanı kötü gidişten kurtarmak için ümitsizlik içindeki bir ruh hâli ile savundukları kavramlar oldukları anlaşılmış ve yakın tarihimizin en önemli hadisesi olan Bağımsız Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin kurulmasının önünde de sadece zaman kaybettirici bir vakıa olarak kayıtlara geçmiştir.

The manner of this study is to define how the press, the only way of effecting the people, approaches the intensive questioning about mandate, protection and independence as well as what kind of role the press takes to evaluate the history during the National Struggle Period. Datum of this study is collected from the newspapers belonging to the mentioned period and evaluated from the newspaper articles which are obtained. As a result, the argument about mandate or protection matters, in the press got too many supporters especially in Istanbul; it is understood that mandate, protection and independence terms are used by the bright people an executes worring about their country and trying to protect their country from this wrong development in their bad moods and all these arguments didn't contribute to establish our Independent Turkish Republic but registered as an event cousing to lose time.
