Mehmed Said Galib Efendi`nin diplomasi kariyeri (1802-1812)

Abstract

XIX. yüzyılın ilk çeyreği Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nda, Batıya açılma, reform programına model arayışları, isyanlar ve merkeziyetçilik politikalarının ağırlık kazandığı süreç olmuştur. Dönemin en önemli simalarından olan Mehmed Said Galib Efendi'nin faaliyetleri aynı zamanda bir dönemin panoraması olmuştur.Bu çalışmada Mehmet Said Galib Efendi'nin diplomatik faaliyetleri ele alınarak III. Selim devri sonlarından II. Mahmud devri ortalarına kadar Osmanlı Devleti'nin dış siyaseti, içeride yaşanan siyasi, askeri ve sosyal çalkantıların perde arkası sunulmuştur.

Mehmed Said Galib Efendi is one of the prominent figures of the process which witnessed the Ottoman Empire's policy of openingup to the West, searching for a model for the reform program, and riots and centralism. His activities are also the panorama of a period. This study addressesthe diplomatic activities of Mehmet Said Galib Efendi, who lived in the first quarter of the nineteenth century and was an Ottoman statesman, in order to take a look behind the scene of the Ottoman Empire's foreign policy and domestic political, military and social turmoil from the end of the reign of Selim III to the mid- Mahmud II era.
