The evaluation of pstress testDepartment of Internal Medicine, Eskisehir Osmangazi University Medical Faculty, pathergy test is performed. In the recent studies the decrease in the positiveness of thepathergy test is showed. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of VOST on thepositiveness of the pathergy test and the effect of disease activity on the positiveness of thepathergy test.10 years) were included in this study. Classical pathergy test wasperformed on the flexor surface of the right arm with 20 G needle. Pathergy test afterVOST was performed on the flexor surface of the left arm with the same needle in allpatients with BD and healthy individuals. Disease activity was evaluated according to theactivity index of Krause et al. Erytrocyte sedimentation rate and CRP levels as well as thepresence of HLA B5 were measured in BD patients and healthy control group.Classical pathergy test was found to be positive in 31 BD patients (%31) on theright arm and VOST pathergy test was found to be positive in 38 BD patients (%38) on theleft arm. Pathergy test was more higher in male patients than female patients. There was norelationship between clinical signs and the positiveness of the pathergy test.In conclusion, we found that VOST did not increase the positivity of pathergy testin BD patients.Key words:en_US
