dc.description.abstract | -X17- x 7. SÜMMAKI Simav Mountain has been selected as the area of study» It is situated in Ktftahya, extending up to district. Demirci and the western p£vi is attached to the state of Manisa. The area of research lies in the East- west direction, being in the transtion zone of the northern psvt of the east mediterran province and irano-Turanien and Euro-Siberian regions. The main types of rocks are as follows: 1) Metamorphic 2) Sedimentary rocks from mesozoic and neogen periods. The soil types are j organic soils, is olluvial soil, reddish - brown soils, Hâke t rocks and debris and n on - calcareous brown forest soils. The area lies» in the cold variant of the humid bioclima tic zone. The floristic studies show that there are 68 families from the division Spermatophyta covering 522 taxa. The families with maximum number of species are Leguminosae <69), Compesitae (60), Labia tae (3^) »Cruciferae (31) and gramineae (30). These are followed by Boraginaceae,Caryophyllaceae and Scrophulariaceae families. The phytosociological position of the species is as follows;^ 17.62 Mediterranean, % 1Q.15 luro-Siberian^ % 6.51 Irano-Turanien, $ 9.3.9 East- Mediterranean, % 2*87 Eurasian, %Z*%7, Cosmopolit, % 1^.94 poliregional and % 35»82 floral regions unknown. The endemics are 39 in number being % 7t^7 of the total flora of the region» There are also 53 species new to the B2 square. phytoaociological studies showed the fallowing vegetation types / 1 1- Shrub Vegetation >«. Quercus cerris association - Cistus laurifolius association - Corylus avellona-118- 2- Forest Vegetation - Castane sativa association - I&gus orientâlis association - Pinus nigra ssp. pallasiana association 3- steppe. Vegetation J ' - Astragalus angustifolius ssp. angustifolius association 4- Grassland Vegetation The grassland vegetation zone is used as a pasture starting from spring season as such, the floristic composition cannot be determined and associations cannot be put forth at all. The percentage resemblance between the similar associations mentioned by other workers have also been worked out. The associations are included in the order. Quercetalia pubescentis and this has been discussed at length. | |
