dc.description.abstract-115- SUMMARY In this work, a complete column design for the rectification of dilute ethanol solut ion, which is obtained by the fermantation of sugar beat molasses. The work is a part of a large scoped project aimed at producing va rious chemical products from sugar beat molasses via fermantation and d ehydroge nation (e.g. acetaldehyde, acetic acid,n-butanol etc.). Packed and plate columns were 3üperately analysed with the help of design procedures -available in the litterature. Wide differences were noted especially for the packed column results.
