İzmir Körfezi`nde yaşayan tapes decussatus (Lin. 1758), ortam suyu ve sedimentindeki radyoaktivite düzeylerinin araştırılması

Abstract

V. ÖZET Bu çalışmada İzmir Körfezi'nde yaşayan Tapes decussates, ortam suyu ve sedimentinin radyoaktivite düzeylerinin mevsimsel ve bölgesel değişimleri araştırılmıştır. Örnekler İzmir Körfezi'nde kış, yaz ve ilkbahar mevsimlerinde üç istasyondan alınmıştır. Örneklerin l37Cs, 40K, 226Ra, 228Ra ve gross aktiviteleri Sintilasyon Gama Spektrometresi ve G-M dedektörü kullanılarak saptanmıştır. Ölçüm sonuçlarına göre, 40k için minimum ve maksimum radyoaktivite düzeyleri T, decussa tus'da (yumuşak doku) 328-489 Bq/kg.kuru ağırlık, ortam suyunda 10-12 Bq/1 ve sedimentte 218-582 Bq/kg.kuru ağırlık, 13?Cs için sedimentte ise 10-24 Bq/kg.kuru ağırlık olarak bulunmuştur. Aynı örneklerde ölçülen gross radyoaktiviteler Tapes decussates (yumuşak kısım)'da 2.8-5.0 Bq/g.kül, kabuğunda 0-0.3 Bq/g.kül, sedimentlerinde 0.2-0.6 Bq/g.kül ve ortam sularında 7.8-20 Bq/1 arasındadır. T.decussatus'xux yumuşak kısmında, ortam suyunda ve sedimentinde ^K saptanırken 137Cs sadece sedimentte bulundu. 226Ra ve 228Ra aktiviteleri ise üç örnekte de art-ortam düzeyinde kalmıştır. Sonuçlar T.decussates,ortam suyu ve sedimentindeki radyoaktivite düzeylerinde bölgesel ve mevsimsel değişimler olduğunu göstermiştir. 41

VI. SUMMARY In this study, seasonal and local variations in the radioactivity levels of Tapes decussatiis living in Izmir Bay, its surrounding waters and its sediments have been investigated. Samples were taken from three stations in Izmir Bay in winter, summer and spring. Activities of 137Cs, 40K, 226Ra, 228Ra and gross radioctivities in the samples were determined using a Scintillation Gamma Spectrometer and a G-M detector, respectively. According to the data measured, the minimum and maximum of radioactivity levels for 40K have been found as 328-489 Bq/kg.dry weight in T. decussates (soft body), 10-12 Bq/1 in surrounding waters and 218-582 Bq/kg.dry weight in sediments, for 137Cs it is 10- 24 Bq/kg.dry weight again in sediment Gross radioactivity measured in the same samples are 2.8-5.0 Bq/g.ash in T. decussatiis (soft body) and 0-0.3 Bq/g.ash (shell), 0.2-0.6 Bq/g.ash in sediments and 7.8-20 Bq/1 in surrounding waters. In the soft body of T.decussatus and its surrounding waters only 40K was determined while in its sediments 137Cs was also detected. The activities of 226Ra and 22sRa in three samples were observed in the back-ground levels. The results have indicated that there exists some local and saesonal variations in the radioactivity levels in Tapes decussatiis, its sediments and surrounding waters. 42
