duvarın toplumsal inşası: Nusaybin örneğinde Türkiye-Suriye sınırı

Abstract

Bu çalışma Türkiye-Suriye sınır hattında 2013 yılında yapımına başlanan duvarın toplumsal olarak nasıl inşa olduğunu incelemektedir. Başka bir deyişle, yerel halk duvarın kuruluşuna ve kuruluşunun gerekliklerine nasıl yaklaşmıştır? Bu bağlamda, Türkiye'nin duvar politikalarının sosyal yankılarını araştırmak tezin merkezini teşkil etmektedir. Duvarın sosyal, kültürel, ekonomik ve politik etkileri bölge halkıyla yapılan derinlemesine mülakatlarla analiz edilecektir. Duvar politikaları, gündelik hayatı etkileyen çok ciddi bir dinamik olmasına rağmen araştırmacılardan hak ettiği ilgiyi görememiştir. Bu çalışma makro ve mikro politikalar arasındaki çatışmaları inceleyerek var olan literatüre katkı yapacaktır. Çalışma duvar politikalarını küreselleşme, ulus-devlet, güvenlikleştirme ve Türk kimliği bağlamından inceleyecektir.

This study investigates how the wall erected between the Turkey-Syria border in 2013 is socially constructed. In other words, how the local people reacted to the construction of the border and what are their views on the reasons provided for the necessity of the wall. In this context, it is the focus of the thesis to evaluate the social reverberations of the Turkish walling policy. The social, cultural, economic and political effects of the wall are analyzed with the help of in-depth interviews in the border area. Although walling policies are of the grave dynamics that affect daily life, they didn't receive the deserved attention from the scholars. This study contributes to the existing literature by analyzing the clashes between macro and micro politics. The study analyzes walling policies in the context of the theories of the nation-state, securitization, and Turkish identity politics.
