dc.description.abstractABSTRACT This study was carried out to -find out role of group- and pair-work techniques in improving writing skills, specifically composition organisation in large classes. Chapter 1 introduces a brie-f description of the core of the study, the problem, the purpose, the assumption and the scope» It also provides definitions, related to concepts such as composition, Anadolu Lisesi and group- and pait - work, in order to clarify the terms and note the meanings in which they should be considered for the purposes of this study. Chapter 2 reviews literature relevant to the subject. It covers information about writing and styles of writing used in language teaching. Some approaches to teaching writing arm defined. Additionally fundamental elements of we 1 1 -organ i zed composition are presented and their contribution to good organization in a composition is emphasized. In Chapter 3, method of the study is introduced with exercises conducted during the treatment program to develop students' writing skill. Chapter 4 covers the data analysis. In the final chapter the significant conclusions and some practical suggestions are presented.en_US
