In the Introduction, the problem and the purpose of the present study is stated. In Chapter I, different points of view on the definition of idiom and classification approaches are discussed. Chapter II focuses on the signif icance of idioms in communication and language teaching. In Chapter III, the research method is explained. Chapter IV consists of the results of analysis. The last chapter, Chapter V, includes discussion and suggestions. vx
