L. angustifolia Mill. (Lamiaceae), which is called the Medical Lavender inAnatolia, grows mostly in the Mediterranean region in our country but it is cultivated inmany parts of our country. L. angustifolia Mill. morphological, morphometricproperties, phytochemical components and ratios, microbiological activities andanatomical structures of the cultures of the species were given for the first time in thisstudy. Microbiological and phytochemical analysis of essential oils were made and acomparison was made with the commercially available lavender oil. In this study, theeffects of soil structure, altitude and humidity on the plant structure and volatile oil ofthe variable structures on the species were investigated. The findings are compared withthe description of Davis in `Flora of Turkey`. In addition, morphological andanatomical structure of the species was supported with photographs and drawings. Keywords: Lamiaceae, Lavandula angustifolia, Morpho-anatomical, Medicinal,Aromatic and Cultural Plants, Essential Oil.
