dc.description.abstract | In this thesis, a computer based instrumentation system is developedand presented for evoked potential measurement. The study involves thedesign and implementation of a bipolar, high GviRR, low noise, low costisolated biopotential amplifier suitable for EEG and EP applications. Dataacquisition and stimulus generation is performed on a Macintosh II excomputer through MacAdios II AID card. The system has a minimum of two analog low - pass filter settings anda 50 Hz notch filter, leaving most of the signal conditioning to the digitalcomputer. The amplifier comprises an electrode impedance check facility toensure better signal acquisition. It also involves a stirn ulus generator outputto a variety of modalities by programming.'This is not a complete EEG system, but it has the options such as realtime data collection and monitoring, real time filtering and averaging, andoff -line data processing. In the thesis, the conventional visual evoked potential in response toflashes iand auditory evoked potentials are measuredas example studies. | en_US |
