Investigation and evaluation of clinical laboratories of hospitals in İstanbul in terms of analysis devices

Abstract

Clinical laboratory is one of the important parts of a hospital. Its importanceis based on pelforming qualitative and quantitative analyses on patient'ssubstances. The resulls of these analyses assist the doctors in the diagnosisof diseases. For this reason, the tests must be performed as accuratelyas possible. To achieve accurate and precise results requires the use ofstandard analytical methods and good instrumentation.After the introd uction. in the second chapter, clinical laboratory techniques,procedures and instruments along with their principles are explained.The study results of clinical laboratories of thirtyone hospitals in Istanbulare mentioned in the third chapter. These results consist of summarizedinformation about each hospital, the existing analysis devices in the clinicallaboratories of these hospitals. and the conditions of these instruments.In the fourth chapter, informations obt8ined during the study on theclinical laboratories are evaluated comparatively according to the groups ofhospitals.Finallybasecl on the investigation or clinical laboratories and the evaluationofthe study results. precautions for the proper and effiCient use of clinicalequipments are determined. In addition. hospitals are grouped accordingto their work intensities and sizes, and for the optimal clinicallaboratories,available analysis devices are recommended.
